    Default Disguise/Wig

Hello everyone. I'm thinking about changing my look a little, so my "alter-ego" can pose for adult mags, advertise more with photos (I'm a bachelor party dancer usually), etc......I was wondering if anyone knew of anywhere to get human hair wigs that look natural, and will stay in place. I know many people are anti-wig, and many wigs look HORRIBLE, which is I why I need the advice of someone who has one that looks GREAT. Thanks!

I like clip-on extensions. You can get some pretty real looking ones that aren't real hair...but that's up to you. I got a couple off of ebay. One was lame (I hate banana clip) but the other one was good, and both together were only about 18 with shipping, so it was worth it to get the one good one.
As for wigs...I wouldn't recommend them for parties...parties can be too chaotic, and depending on how much acrobatic stuff you do--it's just not feasible. Clip ons (make sure you have a really good clip...not one from the drug store) can stay on throughout most manuvers.

I was recently on an indefinite hiatus from dancing and had the genius idea "Hey, it's hot out. I'll shave my head." Well, this turned out to be not so genius after all, especially when I realized that I had gotten myself into quite a pile of debt and needed to return to my club sooner than expected. And so...wig shopping. With no internet access and no credit card, I found myself in a local wig store and got ripped off blind on a wig that is, well, decent, but not incredible. People seem to love my new look...I'm not so sure about it. I feel it looks cheap and fake, and don't know that I feel entirely comfortable in it. Others seem not to notice, and even compliment me on my "gorgeous hair." To each his own. But, I would advise you to do as much research as possible before making a purchase...watch the quality, watch the prices...and even when you find one that you think is THE one, continue to shop around. You may find the same exact wig somewhere else for literally HALF the price. I made that unfortunate discovery today...oh well, live and learn, right? Good luck on your search, and have fun experimenting with new looks. Trying on a different role can definitely be liberating, especially at the end of the day when you remove your costume and slip back into your very own skin (or, in this case, hair!) Happy hunting!

Thanks. I'll be sure and write down the specs of any wigs I try on and like. Then, I'll shop around. I didn't know there would be much variance in the prices. I'm glad to have teh heads up.

There's a girl I work with that has alopecia and wears great wigs. If I see her tonight I'll ask her where she gets them. You could never tell.

Ebay. Search human hair wigs. Not too expensive!!!! And they stay in place!

Hairmenow and Jenny's hair sense are both very good on Ebay. I bought 2 wigs from them, one real hair, one synthetic! Both are dark brown. If you want blonde they get kinda fake looking and really feel fake in synthetic. I would imagine the real hair is perfect no matter what colour!

Thanks Pamela, I'll check Ebay. I'm glad to hear they stay put. That was a big concern for me. Oh, and SHOWGIRLSCHLOE....if you could let me know where your co-worker gets her wigs, I'd really appreciate it. I love having options.
