    For the Rest of Us...

Are there any ladies(besides me) that work or have worked at stage-only clubs? I work in a pastie club that has insane rules. There is no contact of any kind allowed--we can't even touch ourselves. It's difficult to hustle when you aren't really offering anything. We do have our version of a table dance, though. We have those little portable stages(like the ones you can buy for your house) and we charge $5 for a "private" dance. It's not even remotely private though, the portables are out in the open. Most guys don't want to pay $5 for something they can watch for free We only have 20 minutes between sets to interact with customers/change outfits(it's required). Any advice on how to make more money? Changing clubs is unfortunately not an option for me right now.

Like you said, guys ain't paying for something they can get for nothing. Back when I started out, I worked at these,(OOOh, please don't get me started!), clubs, you try soliciting and you get shoved out the door.
No, I am truly sorry, but I would change clubs.

You're on stage every 20 minutes? Really? How long do your stage sets last?

Where I'm from the clubs have a 3' rule when it comes to contact, and most of the places srictly enforce the rule. So even though the clubs offer private dances, a majority of the dancer's income does come from stage.

Unfortunately around here, there are often times when a dancer only gets a chance to get on stage about once an hour, which certainly doesn't seem like a problem for you.

I will say that often times in these type of clubs, you'll see some great stage performers. They kind of have to be, in order to generate tips. So the first thing you could do is make sure you have a kick ass stage routine.

Does your club have a drink hustle?

You could also try to charge for convo time. Although admittedly that's a tricky proposition.

Screw that, go work in a club with lapdances. If you like your club for the workout, stay there one day a week. You can make more in a decent lapdance club in one night compared to every day busting your ass on stage............

If changing clubs isn't an option for you -- how about changing jobs? It sounds to me like you work earn more as a waitress with less exertion (and stress?). Are you able to sell anything else to the patrons of the club like posters, polariods and so forth ? What about the drinks .. can you get a cut from any special drink sales ?

Look to other ways to earn an income in your club or else try to generate the money on stage.

In these threads I always wonder why changing clubs is not an option. I can't see much reason it ever wouldn't be an option. Is it positively IMPOSSIBLE to work a better club? Perhaps travel on weekends to a nearby city to work?

I do agree about the stage routine though, if ya can't really sell table dances it helps to rev up the stage show to generate tips. However, you said in your post the custies don't wanna buy table dances cuz they don't want to pay for something they can see "for free" - which to me implies they don't really do much stage tipping either. Correct?

I would do whatever necessary to get into a better work situation. That place sounds like it just all around sucks.

Yeah, it sucks royally. I really think they don't want us to make money. There are no drink promos and you can sell pictures, etc as long as you don't get caught by mngmt. The really sad part is that it is one of the best clubs around! Unfortunately, almost all of the clubs in this area are stage only. There are a few lapdance clubs nearby, but they all have BAD reputations and they don't allow women as cutomers(unless you want to pay the $1500 cover!), so I can't really check it out. I guess I could just try it out and run like hell if its scary in there.

As for being a waitress, I started out as one, and its actually more stressful, because the guys grope you and then do cool things like if the beer was $3.50 they give you $4 and the .50 is your tip. I think I might just move if I can ever save any money ...

I work in a stage only club. The hustle is different. You are not pitching dances, you work the regulars. People will pay for conversation. Dance every 20 min??? YIKES!!! We only dance 10 min per hour and the rest of the time you are on the floor hustling. A little sweet, a little flirty and fun goes a long way with most men. It really is a different hustle though. I say stay there, work on getting a few regulars and it's not so bad. I like not having to do dances (other than the stage I mean).

The 20 minutes thing is what makes it hard. We dance for 20, come down for 20, but we also have to change(clothes) every set. Even if I get dressed in 5 minutes(yeah, right!), that still only gives me time to talk to 1 or 2 people.

I thought that TWICE an hour was bad!! (and that was only when we were missing half the girls).

I used to dance in this type of club. I did pretty well because I was used to dancing in clubs that were fully nude and where girls were a little more outgoing and made more eyecontact, did moves that were more "sexual" (as opposed to just holding the pole, dancing as though they were at the "Regular" club, and staring off into space), and ...yeah.

anyhow, just like someone above me said. make sure that your stage routine kicks ass. there was one girl at my club who drew people to her stage by using body paints, lighting her tits on fire (she didn't actually light them on fire; she undid half of her pastie and somehow put a part of candle under it, i believe), or by dragging up this big kiddie pool and pulling one or two girls to "wash" one another.

another girl went up in costumes...very extravagent costumes. she had been a "feature dancer" in the past and did very well bringing people to the stage. those dollars add up!

try to make sure u stand out in some manner...personality wise as well as physically.

try to remember repeat customers...makes them feel important sometimes (not always).

remember to make eye contact, and smile..just the basics.

i really don't know what else to tell you besides...try another place...even though u said it was impossible.

    good luck

I must say, that if the stage is really the only way to earn money in this club, then at least it seems like they give you plenty of opportunities to get up there.

Whew! Every 20 min! You must feel exhausted after your shift.

In a way this is better than some of the air dance clubs around here, where the stage really is the primary source of income for the dancers, but on some nights they may only get to go up on stage once an hour. Somestimes even less.
