    Default Self tanner

I am super pale. Very Very pale. We are talking, "the little girl who was stuck in the well" in the movie The Ring pale.

I was thinking about going to a tanning salon to get a tan before I audition but, I am a health freak and I don't think it would be good for my skin if I kept tanning and going back to the club and inhaling all the smoke, it's like begging for cancer to me, so is there any great self tanner out there? I seem to always get the kind that turns you orange

The new Jergens Natural Glow lotion is REALLY good. I'm about as pale as you described, and now I'm a nice tan. Skip the kind for light skinned people, and go straight for the medium skin tone. You'll notice the difference a lot faster.

Oh, and it's super cheap... and really popular, so you'll probably have to shop around to find it right now.

I got Marcelle self tanning lotion with alpha- hydroxy. I too was super pale (my natural hair color is light blond) and this is a good product. Its cheaper than the other brands too.The built in alpha hydroxy helps create a not so streaky orangy effect cuz it helps remove the dead skin cells so you dont evan have to exfoliate before using . Another option is at the tanning salons , they also do a spray on tan and usually guarantee good results .Good luck!

Oh good, I've been wanting to try this!

Also, to Canadians Shoppers/Life Brand now has a copy of Sublime Bronze out- works just as well, $5 cheaper. Yay!

Oh Oh ok I can't wait to tell everyone about this but I love benefits products which are know for faking it and they have all kinds of stuff but I love flamingo fancy b/c it makes you look very tan and wet like super models do in mags and they just came out with a lotion that gives you a instant tan it won't rub off on clothes and it washes off with soap and water and it doesn't look streaky at all because you know where you put it and it is very instant (www.benefitscosmetics.com) and your not orang it is only 26 no cancer or harmful burns or uneveness that you can get from tanning

I'm naturally dark (thanks to my South American decent! lol) but it's still nice to get a little glow from self tanners sometimes. Especially in the winter, when any complexion looks pale and dull.

I like that L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Gel. It works so well and looks natural. My skin is brown, but it still kind of gives off a slight orange tint, but it looks good, and not fake.

The Flamingo Fancy one sounds good, I'll have to try it. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I LOVE Phytomer Self Tanning Spray from Sephora. I'm pasty white (with tons of freckles), and this stuff gives me a great color. I can't use any medium-dark shades, because they look so obvious with my coloring.

Jergens Natural Glow is AWESOME! I got the last one at my jewel and nearly had to beat an old lady to get it, but I won in the end. I have been using it for only 2 days. It is soooo great I recomend it to anyone.

I like the Neutrogena Gradual Sunless tanning. It builds up color over a few days and is idiot proof.

I love the Loreal Sublime bronze because it takes one coat (medium-deep) as opposed to several applications of Clarins or Estee LAuder.

However, if you're pale, Estee Lauder is safer. You can see it go on (tinted) and it fades quickly/ isn't too dark with one application. Clarins is a good "starter tan" too.

I personally don't like the whole tan-in-a-can thing...I used it before but every product I used stained my clothes or smelled funky...so I just do tanning booth every other week...

We use Loreal Sublime it works good. We use the deep but only because we look better with a deep tan. Just remember to wash that stuff of your hands quick otherwise you will look like you were playing in the dirt all day.

How long does the Loreal Sublime last? And the Jergens stuff just comes off in the shower, right? I use the gradual self tanner,,,forget what brand it is and Im not sure if i like it or not. Im scared to use it on my whole body, I just KNOW ill have a long white streak down the side of my body. haha But if you guys say that Jergens is great, I just might try that!

self-tans last about 5-7 days, no matter what brand

longer if you have exfoliated, because it essentially takes that 5-7 days for you to shed your epidermis (the layer that's is tanned)
