    Default Working in Argentina

Howdy, folks! I'm an American model working temporarily (if you consider through the end of 2005 "temporary") in Argentina. The money has been okay, but I'm not sure I'm going to return to the States with more than a few thousand dollars saved. I have a lot of expenses here, including stabling a horse.

Starting to think about dancing as a way to make a lot more money here, without anybody in the US (that is, my family) having to know about it. There are a few clubs in Buenos Aires, but I'm currently in Rosario, about 180 miles from the capital. It would be worth the travel on weekends, if I could make at least $500 a day in a club.

If anyone has ever been a dancer in Argentina, or even South America, I'd like to hear about your experiences before I do anything stupid or dangerous.

Welcome to the site.If you stick around long enough,I'm sure someone would be more than happy to answer all of your questions.

    Good luck in your research.

OK you have to tell us about Argentina...my only experience with Argentinian men was a bunch of sailors who came into our club in Puerto Rico and sat in a perfect row at the bar, never tipping!
My few suggestions for South America? Keep your passport (never trust anyone else with it), go through a reputable agency, and let everyone know you are expected back in the US at a certain time.....plus tell people where you are all the time.
I had a few hair-raising adventures while traveling, but from God's grace and good luck, I came home safe. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

So far, Argentina has been great. The people have been very friendly, cooperative. Honestly, I have not had one bit of trouble or feeling ill-at-ease. But, as I said, I'm staying in Rosario a city about the size of maybe Baltimore -- versus Buenos Aires, a city like New York . . . so I figured I better ask for advice before heading off there to do something I've never done in my life.
