    Default dilemma with transition

i am trying to work in a club rather than doing private parties - well more like doing club work on the side while still doing private parties because its good money. so i auditioned at centerfolds in boston today, which is kind of an upscale gown club in downtown boston, and the manager made me audition for him in the vip room. i got the job, luckily because i didnt think i'd get it - i have minimal club experience. but he was saying that because i am inexperienced with club work he'd put me on days - and wheni auditioned there were maybe 2 customers there. im trying to make money here - not ony would i have to go get new outfits because all mine are 2 piece lingerie/costumes for private parties and centerfolds requires gowns or just 1 piece outfits, id put in the hours during the day and possibly not make money. is it worth it to take this job? i dont know what to think.

Well until the other girls chime in, who have perhaps worked at this club, I would suggest giving it a week and just investing in one costume for the club right now. Even if it did not work out, the one outfit you bought would still be of use. Also try to talk to another day girl if there is one that seems friendly.

Well I'm familiar with Centerfolds in Boston.....

    Pros:

    Only club in downtown Boston

    Decent corporate crowd

Clean, classy place - custys don't have to worry about going home smelling of purfume, smoke, or having glitter on them (No dancer is going to get close enough. heh)

Dancers have plenty of options to sell to customers: Stage, Private Dances, VIP, etc.

    Cons:

Anyone familiar with the SC scene in MA will travel to the alternatives

Even though it is classy, it still gets it's fair share of the young college crowd (Emerson & Suffolk U. are in the neighborhood)

SMALL PLACE - 20 people make this place feel crowded

Typically hard to sell dances or VIPs here, especially blocks of dances because of the strict 3' foot rule. Too many alternatives within a close driving distance.

    ----------------------------------------------------------

I've been in CF several times (usually when I entertaining a client, and can't drive out to the other clubs in the area), and I will admit that they do always have a great group of dancers. The club maintains some high standards on who they will hire. I will also say, that it's rare to see the same dancer there for a signifcant period of time. Many only stay for a brief period before deciding to move on elsewhere.

If a dancer can get regulars in this place, then she can bank. But unless a customer falls head over heals for a dancer, it's a hard sell for dancers to consistently sell VIP's and dances with the strict 3' rule, and unless it is a very busy night it's hard to make enough money from just the stage.

I've been in there several times, even at night when there will be 30 girls staring at 7 customers.

If you don't have a roster of reg custys, then unless you can get a money shift, like Thurs, Fri or Sat night, than this one may be a pass. Just my opinion.

Side note: Because of the strict enforcement of the 3' rule, the massage girls do fairly well at this club. Since they are the only ones allowed to come in any form of contact with the customers, they always seem to be busy. Just some food for thought.

I'll just echo everything Verf just said.

RI is the place to be.

    Get that car, pretty lady.

thank you so much for the info! im still thinking it over, i might get one outfit and keep working the private parties on the weekends and nights, since it brings in the most money during the weekends anyway. im just kinda nervous because the manager said to me that a lot of "enhanced and experienced" girls work on nights & weekends andn i might "get eaten alive" because im inexperienced. i didnt know how to take that. its nto like i dont know how to hustle, just because i work private parties. i have to hustle my ass off because we only work off of tips once we're there - otherwise we dont see any money. well anyways thank u for all your help and i will keep u updated

Well I'm not sure if I'd agree with CO on going to RI. If you don't mind doing medium contact dances, then RI may be a place to consider; however, if you're uncomfortable with too much contact, than it may be a place to avoid.

    ----------------------------------------------------

Do you have to work in the city? Can you travel to other clubs in the area?

If so, the Foxy Lady in Brockton may be an option. FL is a much larger, yet still a very upscale club, with the ability to sell private dances and VIP rooms. They operate under the same MA contact rules, but FL probably tends to be a little busier. FL is also a gown club like Centerfolds. Although, not my personal preference, this may be a place to consider.

Are there things you are looking for in a club? If you let us know what you're looking for, we may be able to make a suggestion. Also, just like I suggested with Centerfolds, feel free to look up the other Boston area clubs in the Clubs & Reviews section. You may find something more to your liking.

    Best of luck.

well, i dont have a car is the thing. and currently the company i work for is too far of a commute, well its not too far but i just hate it - an hour and a half by the T each way. so since working in centerfolds cuts my commute by more than half, i thought it'd be convenient. anywhere else is too far without a car, its been a pain. im having major second thoughts about centerfolds though, i feel like i wont be able to sell vips or dances since the dnaces sound kinda lame (come on, whos gonna buy a 2 ft air dance) and vips sound expensive, i dont know if its gonna be worth it for me. i need a car!!!
