Call me doubtfull. Only 6 of the people say it is him. Eyewitness accounts are notoriously unreliable. Add in the fact that this was 25 years ago and I have my doubts that they could properly identify very many of their captors in a lineup.

Many of the revolutionaries who overthrew that Shah had an idealistic vision. For example, although women were forced to cover up during the time of Ayatollah, they were also allowed to attend university and get degrees for the first time instead of being hidden in the home. Lots of contradictions in this culture.
Of course it was shat upon by the religious zealots and those hungry for power. I'm not saying his appointment is good, but keep that in mind.....
