I'm seriously thing about having my brows and upper eye lid done. Does anyone here have permanent cosmetic? Please share your success and/or horor stories, even if they're second hand. Thanks!

Re: Micropigmentation
My hair dresser actually got permanant eyeliner done. Oh god it looked horrible! She also had like swollen eyes for 2 weeks. Oh it was bad. She said that it saved her about 5 minutes in the morning (which didn't seem like that much of a big difference to me)
There are also so many things that can go wrong. Like if your body is allergic to the ink that they use. Your eye brows could actually turn green! I have seen it happen to my boyfriends sister. I felt so bad for her.
Either way, what ever you have getting done, it will swell. Not too attractive. So what ever you get done, make sure you have time to heal.

Re: Micropigmentation
Plus what I'm wondering is, what if you change your mind later on in life? Since when do people like the same things 5, 10, 15+ years down the line? It's human nature to change, grow and evolve - same goes for taste. I change my mind too much for this to be an option for me...

Re: Micropigmentation
I know that the swelling takes time and that scabbing can occur as well. I've never heard of the green brow thing. That's awful! It seems like everything I've seen on the net either looks really good or really bad. I've narrowed it down to three permanent makeup providers, I just want to hear peoples expeirences so I can ask every posible question when I go in for consultations. Keep 'em comming!
As far as the change thing, I'm looking for tight lining the upper lash line which if done right will look like you have naturally thick lashes and a little bit of definition. I'm tired of worring if my brows smudge off!

Re: Micropigmentation
I wouldn't recommend it. Think about it..think about how people did their brows eyes back in the 80's...YIKES!

Re: Micropigmentation
I know, my mom has those 80's brows. But just like breast augmentation, there's been some newer techniques and technologies... gulp... I hope.

Oy! Who the hell did that to her?

Re: Micropigmentation
That couldn't be good for the skin.

Re: Micropigmentation
My mom has her eyeliner done. It healed up all fine and well, but now it's starting to fade. I say just use the makeup to get the effect. You never know what could go wrong.

Re: Micropigmentation
In some places it is against the law to get tatt's done within a certain area surrounding the eye. I know for a long time it was illegal to get ink here ( the magic makeup ) like eyeliner and stuff done in or around the eye area.
Make sure you check first!

Re: Micropigmentation
I had a consult a while back (gosh a couple years maybe) and the Plastic Surgeon had her upper and lower lids done, and her lips.
She had them done with a very very light colour. The lips showed a hint of pink, like a natural pink flush. Her eyes had a tad of light light not even a brown color all along her upper and lower lashes. I thought it looked good. She looked as though she had very little to a natural lok about her!!
I was there to get a consult about having surgery on my lower eyes.
Anyway she said i looked fine, but would do it anyway if i wish, just make the appt.
I chickened out. Since then i talked to a few ladies who had AWFUL reactions to this eye and lip tatts.
They said the red colours cause more problems than the other colours, but it still can happen with any colour.
What i heard....Nope not me....I amfar to scared for that.
Think i will grow old naturally!!!!

Re: Micropigmentation
I have both my eyeliner (upper and lower) and brows done. The girl did a test patch within my hairline first to make sure i wasn`t allergic to the ink. Immediately after the procedure it will look very dark and the eyeliner will look alot thicker than the final result. About a day after you get it done it will scab over like a normal tattoo it takes about a week for it to look normal. The place i got mine done at i found at http://www.permanentcosmetics.net/ Sorry i don`t have any pictures right now but if you have any more questions feel free to pm me.

Re: Micropigmentation
My friend has her eyes and brows done. They look really good, though sometimes a little too made up for daytime maybe... Personally I would want something that looked abit more natural so I could still apply heavier make up for work or going out. I don't wear make-up unless I go to work or go out though, so it's probably good for someone who does.

Re: Micropigmentation
I went in for a consultation with one of the artists yesterday. When I told her where I worked she showed me a pic of a gal I worked with that was in her portfolio. I work with this girl all the time and I never knew she had her brows done!
Needless to say, I now have a couple of ink dots in my scalp as an allergy test. My appointment for the application is in 3 weeks and I'm excited! She showed me all the clients she's done over the past 2 weeks and I really liked her work. Anyway, I'll post pictures if I figure out how to do that. I'm technological idiot...
