    Sad Bruises, tiredness etc!

Guys Im from Australia, and I dance in a club in Queensland. I have the worst brusies ALL OVER my body as I have only been dancing for three months but in that time I've built strength from pulling myself up on the pole I never thought I would have. But my eagerness to be a great pole dancer has left my legs, arms, butt, inner thighs, elbows and hips with the worst bruises. People thought my boyfriend was beating me up! My boyfriend thought someone had raped me or something.
Its getting worse as I bruise easily and with every new pole trick there is a new set of bruises. With the creams I can try them but will my skin ever toughen up> Im in the worst pain at the end of the shift -bruises, sore muscles and back (from those bloody shoes) - Do you ever get used to the late nights as well? I feel like I want to die when I wake up in the afternoon. Im travelling an hour to work and back every night that I work. Any tips for me. Also then how do you want to exercise after you feel like every muscle in your body is killing you. Im only 19 so I am earning lots of money off stage as I keep pushing myself to do more and more tricks. But its KILLING ME!! AHHHHH. Any advice?

    hi sparkle...

you could try arnica for the bruises, i use it from time to time and it helps the bruises to go away faster. and what about body make up to cover them up... i use sunshimmer tanning body make up which covers my scars, blemishes, bruises and even stretch marks, but i'm sure the other girls will be able to suggest some good stuff if you're not into fake tan!

i would suggest taking a vitamin and mineral suppliment if you don't already, drinking lots of water eating healthy to help keep your energy levels up. try drinking fresh juice, this really helps give me a boost in the morning. glucosamine is good for keeping your joints supple and "oiled" and a lot of dancers i know have had good results.. i took it for 3 weeks and my knees stopped cracking lol (it was getting embarrassing!)

dancing is hard work and takes a bit of getting used to it... but your body will adjust, just take good care of yourself. get a massage and have some long hot baths with essential oils to help soothe your aches and pains...

    take care

    xx cameron uk xx

If you're bruising a lot, and you feel exhausted/weak often, you may be anemic. Got o your doctor and get tested for it (it's a quick needle to see some of your blood). Anemia is easily solved with supplements, and you'll feel sooo much better almost immediately.

I have an iron deficiency anemia, and or years I was always exhausted, it looked like someone beat me, I was deathly pale, my parents were actually questioned for all of my bruises. Finally, a doctor got wise, tooks ome blood, and realized I was severely anemic. I started taking daily iron supplements, and now I have plenty of energy, rarely ever get bruises, and whiel I'm still pale, my skin doesn't look like death anymore.

Yup, I was recently diagnosed with anemia. The first couple of weeks are NOT fun. Tose iron pills really mess with your stomach at first, but it's been like three months for me now and I'm used to the pills, I don't bruise as easily and I finally have my energy back!

another big sign that I was anemic is that I couldn't concentrate as well on tasks. My mind felt fuzzy a lot. Also, I would weeze at the slightest amount of exertion. Just going up stairs I felt like I was going to pass out cuz I couldn't breathe. I thought I had asthma, but with all the other symptoms (tired, weezing, bruises, fuzzy mind....oh and losing more hair in the shower and when I'd brush my hair) my mom told me I prolly had anemia, which I did.

Also, you could be wearing your body out a lot too. If you don't take enough time to let it heal, it's going to stay aggravated and you're always going to be tired too. Give yourself a rest girl!
