if perfecting the straight line is elluding you, try a cake liner instead. Laura Mercier makes an awesome one that has a polymer in it so it's almost waterproof when it dries.

Cake liners are solid and come in a pan. You'll need a flat eyeliner brush to apply it. I don't reccomend getting the slanted ones, they force you to hold your hand in an awkward position and you don't get as great of an effect. Wet your brush and work the product into a paste like consistancy, then PRESS and WIGGLE the brush along the lash line. If you try to drag the brush across the lid like you do with a traditional applicator it'll never look even.

Keep a clean cotton swab handy in case you fudge it a little. While the product is still damp you can use the swab to clean up your mistakes. If there's a Laura Mercier counter near you they'll be happy to teach you the technique. Hope this helps!

If you do ever want to try liquid eyeliner, which I always use cuz it stays on the longest for me...just practice. I had to practice quite a bit, but eventually I got the hang of it. And like Mia said, you'll need Qtips in case you mess up which you will. I usually put a bit of cetaphyl facial clenser on the end of the qtip and it takes the eyeliner right off..but put water on the other hand cuz it will burn if you just leave the clenser on your skin without washing it away.

    Good luck.
