what sort of peel are you getting peachez?

Glad to hear the blue light worked so well for you TFD. Can you tell us more about it? Like do you need to have multiple sessions? How much does it cost? How long did it take? What sort of discomfort did you experience?

lol... I had it done at my medical spa in orlando and she ran the light over me for about 8-10 minutes for free for me to try it. I guess a regular session is like 100 and up.

It is suppose to get rid of the bacteria on the surface of your skin or something. But hell yea, it totally worked.

My dermentologist is putting me in a study for it at her office so i will recieve free blue light treatments for about 10 months or so. I will let everyone know how the next one goes (have appt tuesday) and i will be able to give more information on it!

TFD did it hurt? I had a laser treatment last month but it hurt so bad it felt like someone was stabbing me with a pin. Is this easier to tolerate?

Laser hair on the bikini hurts a bit but no worse than waxing. Certain parts hurt more than others as I guess certain parts of your bikini area have more nerves.

Is the blue light just for acne or does it help with little lines and just wanting skin to look better?

How's this working for you so far Tampa? Or anyone else?

I'm looking around my area on a place that does this.

I read somewhere that the Blue Light treatment takes up to four treatments in one year to stop your skin from blotting so much oil too.

    Oh, I like this...

T Blue Light Therapy For Acne:

"Blue Light Therapy which consists of blue light wavelengths are a beneficial to those who are acne or blemish-prone. Studies reveal that blue lights emit wavelengths that help destroy bacteria that cause acne and blemishes. Blue Light is a safe and cost-effective option for those who cannot tolerate prescription drugs like Acutane®."

"Acne conditions can be successfully treated using Blue Light Therapy wavelengths. The color blue creates a biochemical reaction in the bacteria responsible for the acne condition that causes the bacteria to self destruct. This safe and painless procedure is extremely effective for acne skin. Treatments are for a minimum of 12 minutes per site, twice a week for three weeks."

I've had a couple blue light treatments in the past year, and they seem to work well short-term, hence the series recommendation. But I don't have the need to where I would pay for that many. Too bad they don't offer the tools to do it at home....

Blue light works for many people. Both the LED and IPL/laser version has been around for about 5 years. The cost is prohibitive to many people, including the lack of availability due to the cost of equipment (the machines aren't cheap). LED is not painful but the IPL/laser can sting quite a bit. Generally, the IPL/laser is only done at doctor's offices while you can find estheticians doing LEDs (because it is a gentler product).

My friend has actually done really well with blue light combined with an medium AHA peel every 2 weeks.

Another product that has been getting great review is Zeno. http://www.aclearcomplexion.com/

Ozone therapy (applying ozone to your skin to disinfect) has been popular in Europe and Japan for
acne, but I have not seen it very much stateside. If you find a spa offering ozone therapy for skin, try it out. I've heard good results from those, too.

Saw this on tv the other day. Celebs getting this thing. THe Zeno. How does that work?

It's a little pricey, but if it works wonders i'll have no problem getting it.

yea... i want the zeno too.

Vy, i stopped the blue light treatments simply because lack of time and it wasn't working as well as I though it was.(same with the zinc) it worked well at first, but not for long. I bit the bullet and went back on accutane on a short dose. It was a bitch to get b/c my skin is pretty clear.

But i am sooo sick of acne damnit. I am starting to loose hair again <fuck>

I guess I would rather have no hair and clear skin. I am a nut like that. I contemplated going back on it for about 8 months...

I hear ya Tampa. I did the Zinc(plus I was on an acne med), and that friggin' diet.... Nothing! Still broke out, but skin looked better then before as far as smallers pores. Drink lots of water and no caffeine. But still get zits. It gets really bad when PMS.
I think i'm gonna go on Accutane myself too. I'm scared to lose hair though bc my hair is thin but full(thx to Hair pills ).

How long does the 8 month treatment last for?

I read somewhere that this lady took it(I don't know for how long she took it for) and she was cystic acne free for about ten years! That's awesome.

started on 20mg and went up to 40 at the end.

Now im on 40 and ending on 80. I have been on it for a month so far. If you are going to do it hurry up b/c they are putting harsher restrictions on it pretty soon to make it almost impossible to get.

Let me know how it goes... Im totally clear again after being on it for a month.
