Lovely little posh city, as I remember. Any SW members care to meet up for a drink?

I live in colorado and I've never been to Aspen. I know it's sad. I went to Vail last summer and it was pretty. I got restless after a day. I'm just not a mountain town kinda gal.
But this "mountain town" has posh resturants, shops, bars. Least...did 6 years ago on my last visit.
Aspen is four hours away from Denver by the short route. It's not a place you drive to on a whim, unless you've got a lot of spare time.
The town is picturesque and expensive. If there's snow on the mountain, the locals enjoy skiing on the soft stuff in the summer. Mountainsides are filled with house of rich folk who came here to enjoy the view of the mountains. If you drive in the longer but prettier way, through Glenwood and Carbondale, past the Maroon Bells, you can go past the Aspen airport, with the Citations and Lears lined up like cars in a Wal-Mart parking lot.
Enjoy.

It sounds so nice there. I'm gonna be sweating my booty off out here in the desert.

Enjoy the cool it would be a welcome addition about now around my area .

It still has all that stuff. I guess after hours of driving, the novelty wears off for me.
I'm flying there from Denver. <<--not a fan of long car trips.
I've been to Aspen, its lovely. Why would anyone want to tarnish such beauty by having to hang out with ChicagoEditor?

You have to be a millionaire to be able to afford a two-bedroom apartment in Aspen.
Crested Butte is where the other side of Aspen used to be - now it's getting built up, too. Maybe Creede is the nice isolated but affordable place now place now.
Really, from Fort Collins to Walsenburg on the I-25 corridor, you can live in a town the size of your choosing from several million to several hundred, and be at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. Just please have a job lined up before you move.
And here I thought I was going to miss my daily abuse from Kat. Big hug, babe.

I like where I live in Ft Collins, because if I want to take a quick jaunt up to the mountains I can, and can still be back in time for Dinner.

I've heard that a good signiture sets you apart from everyone.
Well......is this good enough???

Okay, you're right. I'm just too poor to fully appreciate the fancy mountain towns. My wallet and I will stick to Denver where I can get a taste of both the ghetto and the refined. However, it is still hotter than Satan's ass crack around here.

Go up to Winterpark. Only 2 hours from Denver.
Head up to Estes Park - Only 1 hour from Denver.
I think that Aspen would be the bottom of my list for good places to 'get away to'. Just my 2 cents however![]()

Mia....got an idea for you.
Take Amtrak from Denver to Glenwood Springs. I have had more then a few friends/family that do that once a year, and they just have a ball with it. They get a great meal on the train, get to relax on the trip up, stay in a nice Hotel at G.S. and take in the Springs, then come back late the next day.

Not a bad idea. I would like to visit the hot springs...
