Next time, take the customer by the arm and just escort him towards VIP...as you're talking about going up there with him...

Oh god. I worked at one club in which the service staff, the bartenders in particular were just magically hot. Way, way, way hotter than the dancers. This is fine - well, it's not great, but you can't fault them for being pretty. But it became a real problem for me because they essentially spend a lot of time chatting up the customers - with no malice whatsoever. I don't even think it was about making money so much as sheer boredom (slow club). But there is a point in which they actually become inappropriate competition, in which we are already hobbled, because they aren't (and can't) ask for money for their time. I personally don't know a nice way to say - "look. I can see that you are a really nice person. And you are incredibly pretty. But you are really robbing the dancers of customers right now. Do you think you could dial back the friendliness, a LITTLE?" This, of course, is not generally a problem in a more professionally run club, even if the bartenders are just as hot.

Worked at three bars and one club where the girls were also bartenders. Love that working environment. One less person and one less potential and source of problems. Lke that move Coyote Ugly but lot less flamboyant. These bars and clubs did lot of buisiness. First job I ever had that paid me a per hour salary. Man, I thought I had hit high times!
