I don't know about chipping, but I have heard that it is more "sticky". Great for beginners, but challenging if you learn on one, only to go audition at a club with a stainless pole.

If you order from lil mynx, let us know what your experience is...I am still waiting to make judgement on my order from Platinum Stages (it's been over one month on an order they said would ship in less than 2 weeks)....

ya well ive used stainless and i like the way stainless feels, but i jsut want to know if the powdercoated pole would be too sticky for serious spinning....nad obviously its important to know if its gonna chip on me..so jsut basically what does it feel like.?

that sucks about your ps order..see, i was gonna order their permanent stainless pole but now im kinda afraid to after i hear that everyones complaing about thier service...

RetiredDancer has a lilmynx pole. Maybe you should PM her and ask her what she thinks of it (she's always talked highly of it). If I am not mistaken, she has the white powdercoat pole.

I have a stainless lilmynx pole and it's the first one I've ever tried anything on. Then I've discovered that poles in clubs are usually a little more grippy to hold on to. My stainless pole gets really slimy and slippery. I still like it though!

i just recently bought a black pole from lil minx and i'm less than thrilled to be honest. but i think that's just because i'm so used to the brass poles at work. they grip so well, but still allow for movement. with the lil minx i stick to the pole, but a little too much. sliding down the pole with a fleshy part like the upper arm or inner thigh can be painful! it feels like carpet burn. so i kinda wished i just got a brass pole for a little more money. also, it's harder to get a good hand grip because it's more slippery than brass ( i know that seems contradictory to what i said about it being sticky, but it's weird). you have to have a monster grip not to mention serious biceps. the brass pole just accomadates all sorts of grips. but all in all, it works, and i'm using it, but i wish i had known. i'm glad you asked though. i probably should have before i bought mine!

hey thanks for your input, definatly something im thnking about....
but i do find that i get that carpet burn sensation when im sliding down with fleshy flesh like my inner thighs even on polished stainless/chrome.....so i dont know if you mean that it could be WORSE than that already....lol....its so confusing!
but do you still manage well doing upside down free handed whatever tricks/spins?

True, for me anyway! Brass is the way to go!!! I have danced with the powdercoat poles, and they are a pain in the ass. But, lots of newer ladies like them it seems because you grip, and can stay. They are not easy to slide around on.

Brass is just as easy to learn on with a pair of boots and gloves, they help you stick, and then as you gain more confidence, drop the boots and gloves.

    Just my .02
