Default Score one for the good guys... us!

So it was dead at work today due to the hurricane-induced storm. I swear customers are dry clean only. Heh.

But anyways... A guy came up and tipped me a $10. I really didnt notice it until I was taking it off of my thong after the set and realized what it was. I went over to him and thanked him, and asked him if he had given it to me instead of a $1... as a mistake?

Turns out he had, and he thanked me for even bothering to check with him. He told me to keep it and for the rest of his time there he tipped me all $5s. Before he left he pulled me aside and said:

"You know, call me a cynic after so many years in clubs like this... but I am shocked that you checked with me about the ten. I no longer think that dancers would be that nice. Thank you. You've restored my faith in strippers."

Go us, the scale of doubt and stereotypes is tilting in our favor... Slowly, but it is. Every moment like this counts

I once had a dancer give me back some money I dropped on the floor when I pulled my money from my pocket. I wasn't getting dances from here either, she just saw it happen, picked up the money and returned it to me.

It wasn't much, so I told her to keep it. But her actions didn't surprise me. Although, she did mention that her friends told her to keep the money.

I would have assumed that he meant to tip me $10...does that make me bad?

A guy once left his wallet in the booth after getting dances from me and I found it as I was putting my clothes back on. It had probably over 400$ in it. He had only gotten two dances from me and been a complete asshole, but still I gave it back to him without taking anything because I would have felt too guilty. But I was surprised that every girl I told the story to gave me shit for not having taken all his money! They all said I was an idiot and they couldn't believe I gave it back....

Ummm, was that me??? Damn I was just trying to grab it for myself but played nice when you caught me. Oh well!

As for the $10 tip I would've thought he meant to tip that and gone right over to thank him accordingly. However I have been known to question a guy who's grossly overpaying me for dances to make sure he's aware and intending to tip that much. Most of the time they're tipping on purpose but in the other cases they usually wind up tipping me anyway and/or spending more on me later out of appreciation for my honesty. Of course my hotness and quality dances have nothing to do with it. LOL

Good for you, Paige! This is something I have always done, if it seemed there was a reason to question the tip. As I see it, we're asking for a karmic bitch slap if we don't. This also goes for returning money that someone lost that you found, etc...

Hmmm, I usually sit with whomeever gave me a tip, so in a way I guess they paid me for their time? That was great of you though, I tried to give bakc a 20 to a very young guy once and he said it really was for me, I mean he was VERY young, turned out he had a crush on me, cute right?
I do love dancers that are honest, though. I once found a guy's wallet and called him up to give it back, it just so happened he had handed me his number that night, freaky right?
Twice, I have found a roll of money wrapped in a rubberband and asked around only to find out it was one of the servers who had dropped it. Both of them were so releaved because it comes out of their tips if they lose any money, but I have heard of more times than once that someone kept the lost money, jerks.
I've actually heard of customers watching girls drop their money and keeping it or even taking it right off the stage or stealing their purse, so it makes me wonder who in the long run is more honest, us or the custies?
    I vote us,but then I am biased.
Please don't lick me, it tickles..

I also would have assumed they meant to tip me a $10. I've been tipped 100 1's on stage before. o_o

I am totatly for returning money that was found that is the right thing to do. But as far at the 10 dollar tip i am puzzled as to why you would question that that is odd. I would have thanked him and then sat with got him to buy a drink and a dance. Up your hustle you are only hurting yourself. We are not girl scouts we are strippers.

i would have thought he meant to give me the 10 too and chances are I would have noticed it in his hand AS he was giving it to me. I always scope out what they have because the guys who are giving the bigger tips usually mean business. :-P

Because here, it isnt very common to see any tips at the stage beyond $1 or $2 at a time. Sometimes a $5. VERY rarely a $10 or more.

Tips over $1-2 aren't very common anywhere, unfortunately. But I'd still never question whether he meant to tip that or not. I'd just think he liked my show and wanted to ensure I'd come see him after my set. The guys who spend money know an extra tip is the best way to get a dancer's attention after stage.

It sounds like a couple dancers agree that custy's in general will be more generous when they feel like the dancer watched out for them and verified the larger then normal tip was intentional...

I can't help but to wonder of the posibility of an ironic situation... If a dancer picked out a nice looking, non-veteran custy that she received a tip from and asked if he meant to tip her a ten (he never really tiped her a $10), would he feel more comfortable and tip more, maybe better, for that dancer?

^^Why would anyone do that??? Ask a custy who DIDN'T tip well if he MEANT to? LOL

The guys like it because it shows honesty and common decency. I think most people expect others (strippers or otherwise) to not be honest enough to return the money and are pleasantly surprised when someone does. It's disarming and often seen as deserving a token of appreciation.

On the other side of this, I find it extremely annoying when a customer offers a tip, discovers it's a larger bill then frantically rushes to exchange it for a $1 as if it would kill him to go ahead and give it to me. AFTER I did the appropriate dance for the larger tip of course I've had a guy actually try to reach back into my garter after slipping a bill in. Rather insulting if you ask me, and smacks of that oh-so-despicable bait and switch routine.

As a side note pheobo, your comment sounds very much like something a really cynical customer who feeds into the typical negative stripper stereotypes, would say.

It would be a custy who did tip you, but tiped you a $1 not a a $10... The question the dancer would ask would make him believe he accidently tiped you a $10 instead of $1.
    and
WOW... I hit a nerve and that isn't what I meant to do...
I was simply pointing out that my curiosity would be on the reaction of the custy... Pure curiosity on reaction.

I didn't mean to imply that you or anyone specifically would do that, nor that I believe in any stereotype that may imply that dancers do that... nor... nor... simply curiosity.

As a side note, I'm the custy that gives the appropriate tips and treats anybody (including dancers) as a person not a stereotype and with respect. Even if it is online and "anonymous".
