Default Dancing Height? and what about shoes...

Hi everyone! I'm new to SW and I have a question for all the dancers out there: do you (or any other dancers you know) have issues with their height being a problem in making good tips?
Sounds weird but here's the deal: I want to start dancing after I move in the next few months, BUT i'm afraid I won't get hired at any clubs because I would TOWER over most customers (and this is w/o heels--i'm about 6'2" standing barefoot) and some guys find this intimidating...in average height heels for dancing (which I've found to be around 4"-5") I would be sooo tall!!!! Could I get away with wearing lower heels? Or am I just making myself crazy over nothing? If anyone has any comments/suggestions for me please reply, I know this probably didn't make much sense but I need all the advice I can get...

Basically, if you are concerned about how tall you look, don't worry about it.
    Just be you.

Some men do find it intimidating, but are you really worry about that?

Nah! Don't worry about. You will do fine.

But I think she's more concerned about how tall she'll be with heels. You can always get like 3 inch heels or so if you are really worried about your height. It would even out and probably not even look all that funny since you are tall anyway

We're required to wear 6 inch heels at my club. One of the most popular entertainers is 6 feet tall without shoes she doesn't have a problem making $$$. If your club doesn't have a dress code, wear whatever you feel most confident in. I actually prefer a higher heel because it forces me to straighten my posture and flattens my tummy.

thanks so much for the replies so far girls! everyone on this board has been so knowledgable and really friendly
an additional question because i'm thinking about shoes..where can i get cute ones in larger sizes (11-12 wide, i have giant feet b/c of my height ) i've looked at some sites that other girls have recommended here but the selection is a bit limited...i guess when i start dancing i should get a pair of clear heels (?) to go with everything until i get the $$ to invest in a couple more...
    have a great night!

and Great selection in larger sizes. If you get shoes with clear or vinyl straps over the feet, they'll stretch to accomodate your width.

I used to be friends with a really tall dancer- she looked like a giant Barbie. Men absolutely loved her, because it made her unique from everyone else. Use it to your advantage

I work with a girl who is about 6'1" or 6'2", she's the first thing guys see when they walk into the room! It's kind of a running joke between all of us(custies&dancers) that whoever is on stage with her has to watch out for her legs because they are soooo long

we have a 5 inch heel rule at the club I work at.I end up being about 6'2 or 6'3 in 6 inch heels.I've had no problem with my height what so ever. There are also girls taller than me.You could try a more dominate role at work that way you can use your height to your advantage.
