    Default In Memory of...

Sweetest cat in the world, our "zen guru" Jasper lost his 6 year battle with cancer and nerve issues today. He was 13...trouble walking since 99, really bad since 2001.

Even the hospital folks...whether our vet or the ICU down at U. Penn. Vet School in Philly (wonderful folks there...THANK YOU!) thought he was an inspiration.

Gentle, kind, wise...he taught his brothers and sisters (blood, adopted and stray) patience...and his mom and me as well! Resilient and accepting of his body's special challenges...he was an inspiration. I hope he finds peace in the dandelion field of heaven.

As parents of special needs pets, we encourage everyone to consider adopting (never buy an animal) older/special needs pets...most of ours have long-term issues and require NO special care. They just need a loving home, for if they end up in shelters there will be no repreive.

Our 5 other kitties, including Liza the littermate of Jasper, will miss him greatly.

Awww, sorry to hear that. My oldest is 12 and I can't even think about him not being here. My condolences.

I'm sooooo sorry to hear this! I have an 11 year old Maltese dog that is having various health problems one after another and I've been a nervous wreck just from that. I'm seriously going to flip out when it's her time to go.

My condolences. Yesterday I was talking to someone about her family dog dying from cancer. It's really hard to see a source of unconditional love and cheer suffer pain, so take peace in the fact that the suffering is over. You also provided a life and security for Jasper that he was lucky to have- many animals have short, brutish lives on this planet because this world is "hard on the little things."
Honor his spirit by giving another cat like him a chance to be part of your life and be sheltered by your family.

So so so sorry hun. I have lost lots of pets in my life, it's as hard as death of a family member or friend.
