I don't necessarily agree with all the weighted statements in the article, but it's a decent summary of FDR's naked grab for power in the realm of the judiciary. At least FDR's own party had the balls to say "too much" and shut him down. I'm not so convinced that would happen nowadays, with either party.
Interestingly enough, the move to increase the number of Supreme Court Justices had a precedent. The Constitution doesn't say how many Justices there's supposed to be. If I remember right, we started out with five.
