    Default Upstate NY clubs??

I recently moved to upstate NY and was wondering if anyone knows of a club that is decent to work at. The couple I have seen were gross.

Clubs in different upstate NY cities vary widely in 'class factor' as well as 'mileage requirements' depending on local economies, local laws etc. I've probably been to every single one of them at one point or another ! What specific upstate city/area are you interested in ?

Only place I know that was great when I lived in that area is DiCarlo's in Albany.

I work in Buffalo, the club i am currently at is one of the better in the Buffalo area, you might want to try there. There are only 2 good clubs in Buffalo. I worked in Rochester and Syracuse is my home town, Syracuse has a few good smaller clubs, depends on if you want Nude or Topless also. I know all clubs in this area so PM me if you need more info.

I'm living in a town called Cairo, not too far from Albany. I prefer to work topless, I've never worked nude.
What are the local rules? Someone told me you have to dance SIX FEET from the customer!
I worked at Scores in Manhattan for awhile and got pretty spoiled but it's a really long drive from here. I also heard that someone from Scores is reopening a club right down the road from here but there's no sign on it.
Thanks for all your responses, I really appreciate any help.

basically, there aren't any clubs in the Albany area which will remotely compare with either the 'class factor' or the customer spending habits of Scores. I have to concur with Paige that DiCarlo's is probably the closest to the Scores business model, but at a significantly lower level in regard to 'class' and earnings potential than Scores itself.

I had also heard rumors that a Scores franchise club was being pursued for the Albany area, but I haven't heard any firm information in this regard. I really wouldn't hold out a lot of hope in this area. Other Scores franchise clubs in other cities may have a Scores logo on the front of the club, but inside the club they seem to still operate in pretty much the same mode as the club did before the name change.

Its true that there are no Scores-esque places in Albany, but DiCarlos was always the biggest and best.... for forever. Dunno about now. I know the owner is getting old, and getting ill, but I cant say how its effecting the club.

The rule WAS (when I was there) that you have to cover your breasts when coming down from the stage for tips. The stage is surrounded by a railing. Dances are air dances, top on, no contact on the customer's part, minimal on your part. But like I said, I cant garauntee what its like there now. NY State rules may not change (the rules I just listed are throughout NYS for topless bars), but not all clubs follow them.

I remember that Shananigans, or however it's spelled, was the 2nd best club, but had a lot of scandal... and downtown Albany clubs, as well as anything in Latham, Cohoes, Schenectady, and Troy were always gross. Probably hasnt changed.

You may have to commute a distance to work anywhere worthwhile. Though Dicarlos is decent for the area, there really isn't much money to be made in the Albany area. Lace in West Nyack is about an hour and change south of you and can be reasonably lucrative. Topless, moderately upscale, though there is lap dancing involved in the CR.Day and night shift, it may be worthwhile to work a double for the drive you'll put in.Welcome to the country!

Total agreement with Daria. Once you get as far upstate as Newburgh, the 'character' of both the clubs and the customers changes. The upstate NY club scene basically boils down to a handful of 'nice' clubs trying to be upscale, trying to follow state and local laws, and trying to earn enough money to make the effort worthwhile. However, the vast majority of upscale clubs don't bother with the pretense of trying to appear upscale, and routinely bend state and local laws, with the girls who bend the law the most being virtually the only ones earning regular solid money.

    Wow. Doesn't sound so encouraging.
I'd hate to have to drive all the way to Manhattan to work. Even if I don't drink, driving 2 hrs after a an 8 hour shift just plain sucks.
I can deal with a less than spectacular club and even making 2 or 3 hundred a night as long as the club is being run well and it's relatively clean.
I drove by the club here the other day and it was closed. I snuck a peek inside and they are fixing the place up. I'm hoping the guy from Scores is opening it. If it's the person I hear it is he's a really nice, no bullshit guy. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
What kind of house fees do the clubs up here charge if any? Maybe I'll try the one in Albany.

Dicarlos will be your best bet since you don't want to travel. No house fee, the only tip out is to the DJ I believe (its been a little bit since I've worked there). Very clean, very basic, though I wouldn't want you to expect city money. I have also heard the rumor about the Ace of Clubs reopening, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Before it recently closed it did not have the best reputation for various reasons (extras, drugs, 15/20 split on full on lap dances - 15 to house 5 to you) and I don't know how a more upscale establishment would fly in that area (even though there is money from the jersey ski people and the city hunters, it is still a poorer area). Good luck and hopefully you'll be happy at Sal's place.

I have a question for Melonie: I currently travel to the tri-state area to work but I would also like to find something a bit closer, even if it is just a day or two during the week (and only travel on weekends). Where could I find a decent club in the Syracuse area? Some of the places I visited I did not care for, but I didn't get to all of them. Utica, Syracuse, maybe even Binghamton and anywhere in between, if you have any suggestions I would really appreciate them. Thanks so much!

Basically there isn't a single club in Syracuse that I would feel really comfortable recommending to you. The least of the evils is probably the Alpine. The 'classiest' club in Syracuse is probably Dream Girls, but unfortunately the owner is a real 'piece of work'. The best money is probably to be found at Moulin Rouge, but the VIP area is more reminiscent of San Francisco than upstate NY if you catch my drift.

Peepers in Utica is a wonderful club with a wonderful owner, staff and girls, which I can heartily recommend. However, earnings potential can be major league hit and miss especially on weeknights, depending on the luck of the draw regarding the number and type of customers that happen to walk in.

As far as Binghamton goes, fugeddaboudit. Binghamton girls travel to Syracuse to dance !

I'm sure that Peepers will treat you well. However, especially on weeknights, there's no guarantee that you'll earn enough to make the trip worthwhile. As I said, earnings potential in this club is very hit and miss. On a tuesday night you might earn $500+ or you might earn $50 dollars.

Two fairly new places if a long easy drive is not impossible...
Rick's Tally-Ho in Cheektowaga, just SW of Buffalo (new)
Mademoiselle's Follie Bergere in Buffalo near exit 49 NYS Thruway (new and sounds like a plush place)

You might PM Tia_q or Ami who know the Syracuse area clubs from a dancer's view well and have recently worked in many clubs.

You should be able to find "eXXXXTtremely Hott" club/dancer/sex monthly.

I would suggest, in the topless class, looking into Diamond Dolls and the Alpine. Lower business clubs are Bada-Bing (inexperienced owner) and Studio 48 Tavern a little north of here (hopefully it is currently renovating, recently busted); these two are likely not of interest to you. Also you will want to avoid Fantasy Nights which appears to be a dive.

The Syracuse nude clubs with the most business are Lookers, Dream Girls, and The Club (very nice smaller club in the big city style). Other ones are Paradise Lost (flakey management I've heard), Night Lights (you could hit it off in this place if you find some regulars to depend on), and Fantasy Nights (an extras nude place) that you will want to avoid. If you want more info on clubs in Syracuse, I have the scoop here from a close friend (dancer), even knowing the clubs' cuts. PM me, if so.

Problem with Peepers in Utica is most of the guys go for the $10 topless, not many for the $15 nude dance. Utica area remains quite depressed, even for upstate NY. Otherwise it is a quiet simple, non-plush club with decent management, maybe better than anything in Syracuse in that way. Just that there is no real money at least for a few early months. There is another nude club very near Peepers which I have never been in. The topless club in Utica, Teasers, I've heard is a bit sleazy but may be worth exploring.

If youy see references to the Playground in Rome; that is long gone but good while it lasted.

You will need to make up your own mind about management and surroiundings. But this is upstate not near Wall Street; you will not find things to be the same; you are just trying to earn some decent money while maintaining your essential self-respect. This can be done, in an ares with much less living expense than NYC.

By the way welcome to Upstate NY. Come over and ... 'see' us sometime.

I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.

I'm in general agreement with relayer, other than the following ...

Driving to the suburbs of Buffalo to work Mademoiselles or Rick's from central NY is essentially the same drive time (3 to 4 hours) as heading downstate to NYC/North Jersey. However, Buffalo area earnings potential is NOT equal to NYC/North Jersey earnings potential.

As to Syracuse topless clubs I have danced at Diamond Dolls myself (as well as many others over the years), and while management is nice enough there just isn't much money to be found there ... or at any topless club for that matter. As I said earlier, the Alpine is the 'least of the evils' because they have a killer VIP room setup and a few guys with money do walk in the front door of this club.

As to Syracuse nude clubs, the name of the game is contact. Dream Girls is by far the 'classiest' club and has decent earnings potential with manageable contact levels. Moulin Rouge has the highest earnings potential provided you're willing to bend several state and local laws, otherwise it sucks. I don't share relayer's view of The Club (formerly Adult World) because although the facility was recently remodeled it's still what it is ... the live entertainment division of an adult video store/peepshow.

The one and only thing we disagreed on is the Club, which is in the same building as Adult World (AW), which sells adult movies and toys, plus has the video loop closets in the back (no peep shows anymore). AW also has a significant hetero-couple and female customer base. Few of the people coming to AW go to the Club it is reported to me.

Though small, the Club is quite upscale and has a completely separate entrance from AW, the back corner, but also shares the same parking lot. There is money to be made there, but it is rarely crowded, as much as anyplace else in Syracuse. Look at the SW Clubs and Reviews section, dancer reviews.

Money...? Syracuse is better than Utica and at least as good as Albany/Buffalo/Rochester. But though there is lots of old money in Syracuse and the rest, little of it goes to the dancers. Sorry, but we all live here on a history of industries all going elsewhere with high taxes and utilities. It sucks; too bad you moved upstate. But you can make do.

Contact...? Buffalo, Rochester and Albany have less contact than Syracuse; but even in Syracuse (mutual legal touch) it is far less than big city Texas, Niagara Falls ONT and the like. One factor is that ALL clubs, save one, have CCTV setups in the VIP rooms. This limits what can be done. If you want to do only basically air dances, Rochester city is your place, and maybe Albany.

Another difference, the Alpine has multiple couches/loveseats only in their single VIP area. No privacy at all there. Once the customer pays the $10 entrance fee to the house, dances cost $10 each, I believe ALL going to the DANCER. Money to be made there too unless you have an aversion to poor and gawking college kids and stag parties on weekends, as they get a LOT of that business.

I checked the map and as Melonie said I could just drive to Manhattan in 2 hrs rather than shuffle off to Buffalo.
I did however, go to check out DiCarlos in Albany. Boy, it's a strange place. It was so bright in there that I felt like I was hanging out in a diner. A diner with real friendly waitresses. Beyond that the girls were dancing topless only on stage. When on the floor/diner they had to wear a top of some sort. When I asked the girl who danced for my friend how much I owed her, she said "whatever you want to give me". Then I asked a few of the girls what the most amount of money they made in a night was and one told me she "heard" a girl made $600 one night. I tell you I must have become a spoiled brat working in NYC.
I spoke to someone here in town who told me that the guy from Scores I had heard was, is actually reopening the Ace of Clubs right here down the road. I have his cell number and I'm going to call him tonight and pray he's really opening this place.
    Anyway my quest continues.

If you have any info regarding the reopening of the Ace, please post as I'm sure there are a few lurkers who would be very interested in the info (besides myself of course). Try Lace West Nyack in the meantime, its a bit of a drive, but an easy commute straight up and down the thruway.

Unfortunately, this is the truth in regard to the relative economies of upstate NY versus New York City.

Again, keep in mind that Scores 'franchise' clubs are little more than local clubs with a Scores logo posted over the front door. Changing a club's name ... even if the new name carries with it images of greatness ... does NOT change the local economy or the local customer base or the attitude of local club management. Search for past threads on the Scores 'franchise' club in the Chicago area to confirm what I'm saying.

I spoke to my friend from Scores and he told me he is in fact reopening this club. He has no intentions of making it a Scores but he will run it in a similar fashion, meaning little or no contact. Working with him for a couple of years I know him to be a man of his word and very strict with the way girls dance.
I guess the local economy isn't great here but I do see alot of city people here going to various resorts or vacation homes. From what I've heard they also come in winter for hunting and skiing.
So I guess I'll wait a few weeks and see how it goes. I did however go and work in the city this weekend, a girl has to pay her bills.

Since I'm back in Binghamton, I think I'll be checking out a few clubs in Syracuse tonight. Contact isn't a huge deal to me, scheduling might be. I don't want another club that demands full time. Though I'd love a club that doesn't take huge cuts of dance prices, that seems to not be the case in Upstate NY.

I have been working at the club for a couple of week and I have to say it is the best situation I have found up here. I know one of the owners from Manhattan and I can't say anything bad about the way they are running the club. He is looking for new girls who can work clean (minmum to no contact) and are reliable. PM me if you need info.

I can't believe no one mentioned Nite Moves! It's in Latham, which is practically Albany, right on the interstate. I worked there last year and did very well. Apparently they did renovations before i came so it used to be shit, but now its sweet inside- a real boudoir feel. Love the leopard print carpet! Anyway, it works a lil strange there. Everyone's on the payroll and you get a check with your lapdance percentage in it and the taxes taken out. Lapdances are 25 for 3 minutes or 60 for 15, that's it. You get either 15 dollars or 35 dollars out of that. $25 house fee every nite but no tip out for DJ/bar. All tips are yours. They have a big anti-tip-asking policy and will sack you for it, so be careful i suppose. Anyway, the cumulative paycheck at the end of the week worked out really nice for me since it helped me save money, not running around with so much cash. The owner is named Spyder. One of the DJ's is Jay and he's fucking awesome. They're open 11 am til 4 am. Check it out, when i get back from Australia i'll be heading back there.

    good luck
