    Default Who likes Horror movies?

Please post your favorite horror movie here.

Mine is Alien. I like Alien becuse it's set in space. You don't know the rules. Mrs. (Or i suppose it's mister, counting the sequel) Alien can do what she likes. In most Horror flicks it's like some guy/thing/entity comes into some familliar setting... like a camp ground... Or a suburbon street called Elm... There are others that both take and break the rules... Which do you prefer?

So what movie has scared you the most?

Holy crap, Mad. You want us to pick just ONE?

Horror is my favorite genre, and I could never pick just one. Hahaha..

ANY of the "Halloween" movies scare me though, because Michael Meyers doesn't say anything, not a peep out of him. He just has that blank mask cut-out-eyes stare.

"The Ring" scared the stuff right out of me. I STILL catch myself looking at the TV when it's off to make sure it stays off. I still haven't seen the sequel. I'm a little afraid to. Heh

I love horror. And I loved Alien, and Aliens as well. I think one of the big things for me with those two flicks was...there was no corny "Psycho" type string fanfare when shit went down, it wasn't corny. A crazy critter just peeled itself out of the wall and tore someone to pieces. I enjoyed that. I honestly don't know if I could pick a "favorite" though. I like so many for so many varied reasons. I'll just go with the one that scared the holy bejeezus outta me the most. Poltergeist. I saw it for the first time right when HBO was a new big deal, in maybe...83-84, at a friend's house. Scared me shitless. I have seen it since and thought it kinda sucked, but I'll stick with my childhood opinion. (other than that, I love all the 80's-90's splatter-gore comedy type shit ie American Werewolf, Dead Alive, Evil Dead, etc)

    Suicide Club.

It's a Japanese film with sub titles, but it was pretty big over here in the US. Anything that is that scary and can make ya think... Yep.

Audition... Tagline: She always gets a part... Original name: Ôdishon

here's the imdb description of it: Seven years after the death of his wife, company executive Aoyama is invited to sit in on auditions for an actress. Leafing through the resumés in advance, his eye is caught by Yamazaki Asami, a striking young woman with ballet training. On the day of the audition, she's the last person they see. Aoyama is hooked. He notes her number from her file, calls her and takes her to dinner. He hesitates to call again, worried that he'll seem too eager. When he does, Asami knowingly lets the phone ring for some time before answering. She's alone in her darkened room - alone, that is, apart from the writhing victim she has tied up in a sack on the floor...

MY GOD! Tjis movie sure made me squirm. It's one of those japaneese horror movies and i can't possibly recomment it AT ALL. This movie will fuck you up. This won't just scare you, it'll scar you. I'm not kidding. This movie is FUCKED UP.

    Here is the imdb entry:

"The Thing" does rock, all except for the unbelievably bad matte painting that Kurt crawls across towards the end. I remember actually screaming when the dog's face split into 4 pieces.

I know Rhi.i can't pick one. I watch SOOOO many horror movies! Well some even say "horror" but they can be silly to most.

I was into Ghost Ship the other night, and thought i would not like it, but i did!

However i am a fan of Stephen King books and movies!!!!

I got dragged to watch Darkness Falls 2 years ago and I STILL can't be in the dark, ever. Suffice to say I don't like horror movies.

Oooh! Good one, B! I totally forgot about that one! I think I was subliminally traumatized by that movie. When it's dark, I only step in the light spots.. LOL

I love Silence of the Lambs too! But it didn't scare me, I was just caught up in Hannibal. He fascinates me.

I'm also a sucker for House of 1000 Corpses. Corny, camply, cultish but still gruesome.

Mr. C; the Evil Dead Trilogy is classic! Bruce Campbell is a genius.
I was curious how you felt about "Bubba Ho-tep"....

Poltergeist was pretty scary, especially considering that I was a little girl at it's release...
That scene with the jester and the little boy would always put me in tears.

Right after that, "Dolls" came out...
I am still afraid of dolls.

I saw Saw recently. It freaked me out but I still liked it. I also liked House of 1000 Corpses and a few others too that I can't really think of off the top of my head. I guess I have to be in the right mood to watch a horror movie.

OO OO OO House of Wax. Not that cheesy one from way back, but the cool one with Paris Hilton in it. *Claps hands together*

No. Seriously. Poltergeist scared the shit out of me. I mean I keep thinking what the girl inside the T.V. musta been thinking when she was stuck in there.

I rarely see any movies at all, but the ones that scare me the most are the ones that are based on true stories for example the texas chainsaw massacre, and the last movie i saw also i don't know if its considered a horror movie was SAW. It scared me more than any other fiction horror movie cause i believe there's pyscho's out there that are capable of those crazy things.

I'm a huge horror movie buff. The only ones that actually come close to scaring me or getting my BP up are the ones with sharks or spiders. Jaws scared me the first time I saw it simply because sharks fascinate and scare the hell out of me. Plus, they're a very real threat. Texas Chainsaw didn't scare me too much. It was based very very loosely on the horrors committed by Ed Gein. I love slasher movies because of the work that goes into making them, and I love special effects.
