Back In The Day (Before I Was Born LOL)

Earlier this week I pulled out 2 songs to dance to just for when it was dead in our club (around closing)... Well tonight I used them during primetime, both times I have made a killing on stage. So I figured I should find some more songs like it, since everyone including myself seemed to enjoy it.

The two songs I danced to were:

    Vanilla Ice-Ice Ice Baby
Ini Kamoze-Hotstepper (I love this song)

I mean hell most of the girls are wearing out all of the new stuff ie. "Wait" "Dont Cha" "Dont Phunk With My Heart" "Sugar" and all of the 50 songs... not mention I STILL have to hear that damn Crossfade song "Cold" and we have have a girl that works every single night of the week and always dances to "Girls, Girls, Girls" and "Sweet Child of Mine."
Dont get me wrong my playlist has went from Alice Cooper, Beyonce, Linkin Park, Tenacious D and Rick James, I like all kinds of music. I just want to break up the stagnant line up and bring some smiles to everyones faces (okay maybe just mine, I love to have fun.)

Look foward to the suggestions, Thanks In Advance

    Did someone say Old Skool???

    Um.....

Summertime - Will Smith (or maybe it was when he was still with DJ Jazzy Jeff)
    Tainted Love - Soft Cell
    Glamorous Life - Sheila E
    Kiss - Prince
Under Pressure - Queen (the song Vanilla took his Ice Ice Baby hook from)
Bad Mama Jama - Carl Carlton
Forget Me Nots - La Bouche (Will Smith took this tune for Men in Black)
Get Down On It - Kool and the Gang
    Bad Girls - Donna Summer
You Sexy Thing - Hot Chocolate
    Love Rollercoaster - Ohio Players
Can't Get Enough of Your Love, Babe - Barry White
I Heard it Through the Grapevine - Marvin Gaye (or pretty much anything of his)
The Payback - James Brown (also Get Up Offa That Thing, Sex Machine, I Feel Good, Licking Stick, Hot Pants)

And if you're feeling really silly, Chocolate Salty Balls from South Park always gets a chuckle. I work with a girl who dances to that sometimes and it's fun

I gots alot more, I used to dance to NOTHING but old skool stuff. Getting a lil brain-dead just now tho, perhaps I'll come back and post more later. Have fun!

Hindsight, how that that playlist workout (as far as $$ is concerned) in your club when you played that.

Oh I went to a club last week on Friday, this dancer played ummm "Mr. Lover Man" by Shaba Ranks..nah I dont think that was it...I'll think about it and get back to ya. Oh yea, and she played "Tootsie Roll" the young boys were going nutz!

Bridgette, you got a nice lil collection of songs there yourself!

This may sound kinda geeky but try it since it's never failed me once.

Go to Start.... Programs... Accessories... Word Pad..... and then just begin formulating whatever flows from your mind, if it's let's say longer than your average rebuttle via a forum posting. I've done this numerous times when I was compiling lists and recollecting things from different websites. You can just simply save whatever your doing at that second in Word Pad to your desktop as a temp file then re-open later or just cut n' paste to your page that you were planning on posting it.

I have had the dj play the the set for me 3 times this week and I all ways make close to 50 dollars on stage. Which is great since before I was on the stage it would appear no one is present in the club.
Thanks for playlist everyone, keep it coming. The DJ says he thinks I am carving out a niche for my self as the old skool girl. I like that idea alot.
