He says, "I kept my music and my job seperate." I guess he forgot that he rapped about screening people's bags and that he's a "crazy, suicidal Arabic ... equipped with bombs."

REALLY dumb way to gain attention to his music.....What did he expect would happen writing shit like that???? Oh Geez.....Well now he's got his 15 of fame in the news.....

Ok dude...marketing your CD by talking about things that deeply hurt other people (families of people who died) pretty much sucks...I agree, what did he think was going to happen? Did he figure he could keep his "other self" hidden when he's rapping about crap like that?

^ uh, I think they fired him because he is a baggage screener at the airport!
WAS a baggage screener. I know I sure as hell wouldn't be comfortable going through airport security knowing that the baggage checker rapped about being crazy, suicidal, bombs and flying an airplane into a building on Sept. 11, 2005! Fuck no! I'd refuse to board the plane!
What a fucking dolt.
i was thinking the same thing cinammonkisses. although i don't care for a lot of rap music because of it's lyrical content. i don't know of anyone else who was fired for expressing themselves...although i've heard that it does happen on more than a few occasions.Originally Posted by cinammonkisses

I agree this is great for his career!

Well topaz copied it lol
I didn't want to get into another fallin out, in the same week on SW so I deleted...hmm to much drama for me this week lmao.
I still love ya though LSM
Some Douchebag: "[Pimp C] 12:43 am: its true we got to stick together the black people on SW CK you is teh condoleeza of SW"

as a rapper. NOT a baggage handler! *snicker*

yeah, I understand where you're coming from with deleting it. But I totally disagree with his race being a deciding factor in his firing! I would expect and demand that any white or black or asian or whatever race of people who are handling baggage at the airport would also be fired if they rapped (or talked or wrote) about bombs and blowing up planes etc and being a terrorist!

I guess it all depends on exactly how "bad" his lyrics were. I don't like to criticize until I've actually heard the "evidence" (so to speak) against the person. I do agree with the above posts, though- there are tons of other horrible lyrics floating around out there, and nothing happens to those people. I guess they aren't baggage screeners that rap about planes and bombs, though, huh?

If anybody's interested you guys can hear one of his songs here:
Don't get me wrong. I believe he has a right to rap about anything he wants. Thats what makes this america. I may not agree with it, I just wont buy his cd.
Where the idiot comes in to play is his lyric
'I've been screening your baggage for the past 6 months and you don't even know it' He himself admitted to not wanting to share the lyrics cause he knew he would create problems.
Thats borderline 'Admitting to commiting a felony you havn't been caught at' and it would raise eyebrows, and it removes him from 'free speech' to the business doing what it needs to do to protect its passengers from someone who gleefully sings about rooting through their things.
Its like working in a hospital and then putting a cd out on how to go about hurting people in the hospital. You have to decide if his ability to do one job isn't seriously compromised by his other job.
I doubt he was fired for his race. Just that he sang about breaking the law in his cd when in his professional life, he has every ability to break the law as he sung about it on his cd.
He has a constitutional right to do sing about what he wants. But the Business he works for is REQUIRED to protect its clientel from POSSIBLE security/safety risks. I think the business acted correctly.
OTOH, he got some hella press for it, so he shouldn't be complaining.
People are not ruled by their memories.
I think that it is obviously in bad taste - but I think that a lot of popular music is in bad taste. Nobody seems to care about my taste. What's with that?
Anyway, surely there is some way of determining whether or not he is actually dangerous? I mean they shouldn't be able to fire him for saying these things (or maybe they should - I'm still weighing that). But surely there are some investigative techniques to determine how potentially serious or dangerous he is?
I have taught that the sky in all its zones is mortal and its substance was formed by a process of birth

Proof that there are way too many bad rap albums out there.
Does everyone release a CD now? It is like the new Bar Mitzvah?![]()
Because there ain't no tits on the radio
He'll be on the FBI watch list now...
He's not too bright, so I'm not all that worried about him.
Idealism is fine, but as it approaches reality, the costs become prohibitive.
William F. Buckley, Jr.
Jenny, you are 110% correct.
But he's a baggage handler/screener, thats slightly above min wage. A corporate investigation into his actions + bad publicity is a greater loss than paying his unemployment for such comments.
The company has a responsibility to protect airline passengers from possible terrorists. This is that possibility, now in the light of the news, if he kept his job, it would mean nothing but contriversy and danger for himself, the company and the people around him. It just infuriates the massess.

I don't think the guy is really a threat. I think his trying to make a point by being sarcastic about such a tragedy is VERY inappropriate and cruel. If he's a real artist, he can find ways of gaining attention from an audience that doesn't pertain to current stereotypes of men of middle eastern descent. Why not try to change those stereotypes instead? Most of the rappers that talk about gangs and crime have actually been there and done that so that's different. Not that I condone that either.
