    Default Getting the license

I am a full-time student and working 50 hour weeks trying to make ends meet, so I've been considering dancing. i live in Seattle and in WA if you dance, you're an independent contractor, so you need a license. the only problem is, I can't figure out where to get this damn license! I called the dept. of licensing, looked on the internet, and i still can't find anything. i'm wondering, will any clubs in WA hire me w/o a license or can I get it after I start dancing? I'm really scrambling to figure this out, so anyone from seattle or anyone who knows about this stuff.....any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Just because you are an independent contractor doesn't mean you need a license.
I don't know Seattle's laws, but you might be in the clear.

The best thing to do (save hearing from someone in Seattle on here) would be to call a club and ask them what you need.

Because there ain't no tits on the radio

I'm always amazed that people don't just call the dang clubs; they, after all, know better than anyone what kind of regulations there are!

Head over to tuscl.com or stripclublist.com, look up clubs by zip code, and call them; they should be able to tell you exactly what the deal is, and will probably have some advice on how to do it the easiest way.

A couple of quick Google searches suggest the following. First, read these:

Then call (206) 684-8484 and ask for details on getting an adult entertainer's license.

That's for Seattle only. There's a separate application for unincorporated King County and for other cities, so you may want to pick a club first and then figure out what licenses apply.
