Default Lip augmentation and other face procedures

Just curious if anyone has had any lip implants or collagen injections etc. I am thinking about getting this done, as was curious about other feeling on this. I was also considering restylane and botox for anti aging. This all seems to go together so I was hoping to have one appointment to get it all done at the same time.

You're suposed to be able to get these things done, and be pretty much back to normal that same day (not unlike seeing the dentist, I guess). Just was wanting to know how other's expeirences were.

    Thanks, Paris Love

I have several buddies, both male and female, who love Botox. The trick is to find a good doc or RN to do the procedure, they all happen to go to the same one. The only complaint anyone had is when the RN they used went on vacation and another nurse handled the injections. Someone ended up with one brow slightly lower than the other. It wasn't really noticable but the unlucky recipiant was upset that he looked "constantly cynical" for four months.

One of my Botox lovin' friends is a part time make up artist for a plastic surgeon's office. She has seen some of the most raw looking women fresh from a laser or face lift procedure and swears that the grossest thing she's ever witnessed is a lip injection. It's apprently painful and can get bloddy but she and I both agree that when it's done properly, the results are fantastic. As you probaly already know, you'll be swollen the first week or so after lip injections. You'll have an over plump "duck lips" look but that sould settle.

I say go for it. None of the procedures you mentioned are permanent and you only live once. You'll never know if you'll love or hate the results unless you try.

I recieved these a couple months ago.

I loved the Botox!!!!! I never get that little line in between my brows any more.

the Restylane was a complete waste of money..
It looked sensational for about 2 weeks and then it was "absorbed"
I've heard similar statements from others.

I would suggest a treatment that stimulated collagen production instead...

I had a friend who had collagen done on her lips. Personally, I think it looked like shit. You could see the "lumps" where the collagen was inserted...and she said it was very painful because you had to "massage" those areas several times a day to get it to spread evenly. I would pass on that. I also thought that the lip looked fatter...but there wasn't much more "width" to it...meaning that her lip line was still thin...but kinda looked fat. I dunno if I can explain exactly how it looked...but IMHO, it didn't look good...and I wouldn't spend that kind of money for a procedure like that...

I don't know anyone who's had anything else done facially wise, though.

i had restylane injected into my lips couple months back and it wasnt worth it....they looked fuller for about two weeks bc they were a bit swollen but than it went back to normal.
u can definetely go back to work the same day/nite , all u need to do is cover the bruises with some make up.i went back to work the same nite but felt like everyone can tell so i didnt make a lot of money , so i say take a couple days off ,or at least the first day.

i knew someone that used to get collagen all the time... then she decided to have fat injections in her lips. I guess they injected restylane to show her what the fat injection would look like... i guess they look exactly like restylane, but permanant.

I would like to look into "upper lip lift". Nothing inserted, & is permanent.

I think that maybe suitable for my upper lip.

I've tried alloderm, collagen and finally a gor-tex lip implant. Only the gor-tex implant really lasted for more than a few months. Unfortunately the gor-tex implant decided it wanted to pop out on its own after about 3 years, forcing an unscheduled (and unbudgeted) trip back to the plastic surgeon.

A girlfriend found a doctor who was willing to inject silicone gel directly into her lips, which turned out fantastic. Unfortunately, the FDA does not approve of this procedure so you'll have a hell of a time trying to find a willing doc.

I don't like the look of collagen lips AT ALL. Think Donatella Versace and Lil Kim. ummm no.

velvet, I have been researching restalyne for about a year now. I don't want it in my lips but definitley in those NL lines. I read it lasts for a least six months. What I want to know is, did it look like you had track marks in that area for while? I read that it is a good idea to wait at least two weeks to go to a formal function or whatever for at least two weeks. Therefore, I was thinking of taking two weeks from dancing. Is this necessary? I head it really hurts like a [email protected]#$ fu&^er!! Would love to hear about your experience from injection to recovery time! Botox is a piece of cake and have been using off and on for almost three years.

Please let me know how it went for you.

    Cheers:-)

Personally i prefer fat injections to be used for both fillers and lip plumpers.

I've had restylane under my eyes and in the beginnings of marionette lines. I was pleased with the result, but I find that it does not last 6 months - more like 2. Ditto for the Botox.

Lip Augmentation can be a good thing, when done properly. The mistake I see women make is that bigger is always better. Trust me, it ain't (and no, this isn't me below).

That came off of yestheyrefake.net. Even factoring in the swelling, she's had way too much Restylane put in. By the way, did I tell you it hurts like a motherfucker? There's clinical trials right now for restylane with lidocaine mixed in to dull the pain. I can't wait until it's FDA-approved.

I have had collagen once, waste of money did nothing. Then I tried fat it looked good for about 3 weeks then my body would absorb it. Then 5 years ago I had a permanent lip aug or lift. Its permanent and I get lots of compliments on my lips. I would suggest trying fat first to see if you like yourself with fuller lips. Cory I have had restalyne 3 times so far. Its seems to last around 4-6 months. I have a high tollerance for pain so it wasnt painful for me. Also no track marks. I go to work the next dai after I have it. I think you would be happy with it. Give it a try.

well i did have a few small marks, but they went away in a few days. i wouldnt say they were exactly track mark looking just red.

it did hurt somewhat but it wasnt that bad and my pain threashhold isnt super high.

there is no way you need to take 2 weeks off!!! i had it done monday and was back to work on thurs. it was swollen for weeks but it looked great even with the swelling.

all and all not a bad experiance and i am soooo happy with the results. go for it!!!!
