    Default Seen without makeup?

    This may sound odd...

    but...

I was putting on my makeup today. I put on foundation, eyebrow pencil (my eyebrows are VERY sparse, so I basically redraw my brow and fill in), and a great deal of black eyeliner on the top AND bottom lid. I noticed that there's a HUGE difference in how I appear with makeup vs. without makeup...even though I don't use that much makeup...just alotta liner and brow pencil.

So here goes my stupid question...

Have any of you dreaded having someone you are dating see you without makeup? It's bound to happen sometime. (yes, I know, this is the SHALLOW side of me...I do have others....) Have any of you wondered what they will think?

I know there is such thing as permanent makeup...but is that really good? Or does it turn green after a short period of time?

Whenever I stay over someone's house just for the night, I usually wear my makeup to bed. This, however, I know is not good. It will age the skin, and the eyeliner can easily cause eye infections.

Am I the only one who wonders this? I guess I just don't have enough self confidence in my appearance without makeup? I don't know...

just some random thoughts I had..

Any feedback and/or answers concerning the questions is greatly welcomed
...and thanks for listening to my random, shallow rant

Nope..actually I NEVER wear makeup. Only with photoshoots and stuff. You know you shouldn't wear makeup to bed...why do you do it? Why dont you try going without wearing makeup slowly? Start getting facials, it will open up your skin and give it some OXYGEN!

You're right, makeup does age the skin. So why wear makeup when you already know this?

Heh, I live with my boyfriend, so he gets to see my nekkid face all the time!

Plus, I go to the gym first thing in the morning and REFUSE to put on makeup for that. It's one of the busiest times of the day there, but I'd rather sweat and not have a bunch of chemicals all over my face.

Honey, if you are pretty and attractive with make up you will be pretty and attractive without it. Make up is just (essentially) slapping different colours on your face.

I used to be exactly like you but a couple of things happened to me that changed the way I feel about myself sans make up. The first thing was my skin cleared up dramatically. I used to be the kind of gal that broke out on her face, chest and upper back. YOu wouldn't catch me dead without my face on, ot in a low cut blouse or halter top. I quit smoking and went on bc and my skin is the first thing I get complemented on in and out of the club.

The next thing that happened was I got older. Every year I'm have more of a f*ck off, this is me deal with it attitude. In the past if I spent the night with a guy for the first time I would either leave before morning, or wake up and reapply. Now I just don't care. If you can't be with me because I barely have brows and will occasionally get a zit then you're an ass.

However, I am getting permanent brows and upper lash line enhacement on monday so I'll let you know how it goes. Yes, it can fade over time (you'll only experience things turning blue or green if you use a blue black ink) but just like a regular tatoo you want to get freshly inked every 5-10 years.

Years ago i worried about the no make-up look too. Even if i only had lip colour on.
Today...No way. I love the look of my skin with no make-up!!!!

I would like the permanent eyeliner done, since my eyes are the only thing I do up on my face. How much does that cost?

Hi Fallenfae! Your rant is not shallow at all

Start small. Go to your local convenience store fresh out of the shower, with no makeup. Next, to the grocery store, Then to the mall and so forth. My ex-girlfriend was very much like you until she realized how much prettier she was without the makeup. She just looked DIFFERENT. She did the baby steps and the last time we went to a night club together, she was down to eyeliner (top lid), mascara, and tinted lip gloss (this from a woman who's makeup routine would rival most transvestites!!).

The only "Makeup" you should be wearing to sleep is Vaseline Intensive Care lip moisturizer (or other mostiurizer) and a good night/eye cream, LOL. Try getting used to seeing yourself without makeup (maybe just lip gloss) and you'll start to appreciate your natural beauty Also, take off your makeup as soon as you can and drink lotsa, lotsa water. You'd be amazed at what it does for the skin.

I seriously dislike make up and rarely wear it. Outside of work, I only wear lipgloss. Maybe mascara with a touch of eyeliner if I'm going somewhere muy especial.

Kinda OT, I think most women in general look better without make-up. I get a kick out of watching fellow dancers come in without makeup on - looking just as beautiful as the day is long - only to muck it up with cakes of foundation, concealer, powder, eyeliner, eyeshadow, mascara, lip liner, lipstick, lip gloss, etc.. (I'm not talking about the ENHANCERS, I'm talking about the ones that LOAD on the makeup).

    hey sweetie!
i'm the same way. luckily i have a boyfriend now who actually prefers me without makeup. but i can't go anywhere without it. i hate my skin so i just feel naked without a full face of foundation. but yes, with guys i was seeing in the past i would wear my makeup at all costs. sleep in it, reapply it.....it's just my biggest insecurity. waking up in the morning i would feel embarrassed. but when you find the right guy who loves the real you, you will feel comfortable enough to be makeup free. and he'll probably prefer it. so don't feel weird. it kinda weeds out the superficial guys anyway....when you feel comfortable with the right guy you'll know......everyone has their thing. but i totally understand.

I prefer to not wear make-up at all. Especially in the summer. It always feels like I'm wearing a mask.

course, I am 31 now...and this is how I feel. When I was younger...I wouldn't go out to the mailbox without being dressed nicely with hair, nails, and make-up done. It took me about 2 hours to get ready to go get the mail.

BeachBunni, the price of permant cosmetics varies. In my neck of the woods I found prices ranging from $150-$400 per area. The gal I'm seeing charges $275 for upper lash lining...

I have the same problem with my eyebrows!! I'm perfectly confident about my face w/out my makeup as long as I have my eyebrows drawn in. Eyebrows are SO important in structuring the face & you can do without a lot of makeup if they looked groomed & in the right shape for your face.

I got so sick of worrying about my eyebrows "coming" off, so I saved up my money & had my brows permanently tattooed on. They need a touch-up, but I couldn't be HAPPIER!! It really hurts in the beginning & my eyes watered a lot. Eventually the pain will subside a bit. Your eyebrows will look really dark & you have to put ointment on continously for the next couple of days. But after a week or so, it will peel off & a lighter shade will be left behind. I love it so much & am so happy to be able to wash my face & go out without having to spend an extra 5 minutes on my eybrows.

Just be sure to research your area for a professional permanent makeup artist who has been skilled for a while. Good luck!!

I wear full makeup when I'm at work and when I go clubbing. Any other time I leave the apartment, I wear eye makeup only. Gives the rest of my face a break. But yeah, I hate being seen sans makeup. Egads.

For work or clubbing with the girls I wear full make-up. Day time I wear less makeup, just a little . Night time, i spice it up a bit. I also feel the same way when I meet guys, so your not the only one ! Dove face cleanser, in the bottle ,seems to make my skin appear smooth and glowing. I am more confident after using that. Maybe you can try that too.

I don't usually wear foundation on my face during the day. by the end of the day I usually just go to bed with whatever is left which is usually just some smudged up eye makeup. For me to be seen totally without makeup I'd have to wipe all my eye makeup off really good. I think I look sickly with absolutely nothing becuase I'm so used to seeing at least a little liner on my eyes.

I'm against the permanent makeup thing.... styles change and you wouldn't want to be stuck w/ a look that isn't in style anymore would you?

I used to feel the same way when I didn't have eyebrows and had to draw them in. (not to mention I was terrified to go swimming for the longest time, in fear I'd come out looking like Powder....) MY advice is to grow them bad boys out! or do the research and find a reputable permanent makeup artist in your area. That should help out ALOT.

I just got done with my micropigmentation session. It took three hours to do my brows and enhance my upper lash line. I'm really happy with how it turned out so far.

Yikes. I used to be this way, I'd wear a LOT of eyeliner and mascara. And when it'd start to come off I'd put more on, scared that someone would see me without my face on. Since then I've slowly but surely stopped wearing so much and I think I look better, I mean hell there are days when I think I look better without ANY on at all. I've also switched from liquid foundation to bare minerals which is SO much better for your skin and when it starts to rub off u hardly notice. I usually look kinda hellish the next morning after a romp with a guy, but I'll straighten up just by wiping the black out from under my eyes, and smoothing out my eyebrows, which are partially drawn on (at the very ends) I usually don't look too bad.

Oh and I've seen some people with permanent makeup, sorry to anyone who has it and thinks it's great, but the couple of ladies I've seen looked horrible. I worked for a lady who owned her own spa/salon where she did permanent makeup and had eyeliner done herself. YIKES. It wasn't straight at all, and it looked bluish to me (she might have wanted it that way, but it looked crappy to me) I've seen brows that looked good, but I've never seen eyeliners or lipliners that looked good.

No make-up preferrably for me. Besides, even when I do have my SC "face" on.. it is on the 'natural hardly anything there' side so it looks like I don't wear much (which is true). When at work I just use foundation, eye shadow, blush and lipstick. I've stopped with the mascara until I can find one that doesn't irritate my eyes .. at the same time I don't really 'need' mascara as I do have natural thick lashes.

Overall, I prefer no make-up and can't wait to wash it off my face after work. I mean NO make-up.. nothing! I use lip gloss however that is not coloured.
