He will be rich. But, i got a message from him as all myspace people do saying he is not shutting down and don't listen to "other" rumours...???
Pamela
Yeah, the Bulletins he sends say that things won't change.. He's not leaving, either. It was sold, but he's staying on.
I'm sure there will be popups or whatever, so make sure you load your browser up with anti-crap.
It's probably in his contract that he has to stay on for a while so it appears to be a seemless transition. My bet is that he will be gone in a year and the site will loose it's popularity very soon.

I guess Myspace will be become a propaganda site for the Republican party.
Ergh, I hate fox news and their national stranglehold on the terror communities. Sucks that those republicans are so frickin' rich.
...and the day came, when the risk it took to remain closed in a bud became worse than the risk it took to blossom.
They'll probably make it a pay site...

Toms latest bulletin
Latest Update: 10:02AM PST, Friday, July 22th.
Many of you have asked about NewsCorp buying MySpace. (You can read an article about it,
http://www.businessweek.com/technolo...5427_tc119.htm
Everyone seems scared that MySpace is going to change. I'm not leaving, and I'm still making the decisions about the site, and I'm not going to let things suck.
The rumors people are reposting in bulletins are not true: 1) we are not going to become a pay site. 2) we are not increasing advertising. 3) we are not allowing anyone to monitor the site. 4) we are not deleting any content or censoring people in any new way. (we've always deleted nude pics and hate speech) 5) we are not exploiting anyone's data or violating anyone's privacy.
MySpace has been my life for almost two years now. I know its as important to others as it is to me. I won't let it get jacked up.
*sigh*
i hear xanga's cool

Golly, when did exotic dancers become so interested in non-profit enterprise? Hey, I'm no Rupert Murdoch fan either, so that's rather disturbing ... but.. let's think about the big picture here. Y'all have complained that the MySpace site has been slow and sometimes inaccessible. My understanding is that this was the result of its incredibly rapid expansion and success. I'm amazed at MySpace Music and how universally musicians have adopted it as a home to post their music. I can sample many full songs there that I can only find as 30-second clips anywhere else. That's on top of all the social networking going on.
The whole thing has incredible potential to bank big time from advertising that's targeted to its users based on their stated interests. Users are telling you voluntarily right there on their page what they're interested in. (If done properly, the targeting doesn't have to be intrusive and can actually benefit the user by providing desired information, but that's a big IF.) However, capitalizing on that potential takes a huge investment now for the payoff later. Maybe current ownership had maxed out its resources. The foundation's been laid, but because the site's busting at the seams, the whole thing's about to collapse from the weight of its own success - unless additional money and resources are pumped into it pronto. So the logical choice is to sell to a big player, someone who can make these things happen, or else see the whole thing disappear like a web page replaced by 404 page not found.
But that's just my perception. I am totally uncompensated for my unsolicited Internet consultancy.![]()
