    Default Surgical Drains

Did anyone here have drains inserted in the breast during enlargement surgery to collect fluid and then have them removed the next day? Im having them and a friend I spoke to said it was agony having them out, the worst part. Im getting particularly nervous about them.

It was major squick. Without a doubt, THE most disgusting sensation on the face of the planet. Imagine, if you will, a hose being tugged from deep inside your chest in much the same way as an IV being removed (only a good deal longer and deeper). You won't have to imagine it, because that's exactly what it is. OMG GROSS and you're making me RE-LIVE IT!

    *full body shudder*

On the other hand, it's mostly painless. Squicky, but painless.

I recall seeing the doctor pull the packing out of my nose after my nose job. It was downright nasty. I still don't regret having my nose done. I don't know much about boob jobs but if this is part of it and you want it done, just think about how happy you are going to be with your new boobs and focus on that.

No worries Siliconedoll. When they pull the Jackson Pratt drains out the next day, it should only cause some minor pain and discomfort.

What determines whether or not you have the drains?

    Just curious.

hmmm thats what all doctors say!For "uncomfortable" read "agonising" LOL. I was told having a coil fitted would be "uncomfortable". It was the worst most distressing thing ever and really upset me for a few days after.(No, the coil never did get fitted lol)

Haha, it's true. That's what all docs say. Anyway, I am sure that you will be getting some pain medications, which usually make you feel euphoric, so why not pop a dose of those before going to get your drains out? Look on the bright side--at least a boob job is instant results! I had liposuction done, and the healing process is very long and drawn out--at least 6 mos. before you really start seeing results! Enjoy your new boobs!
