    Default Thin enough to audition?

Hi all. I'm psyched and feel ready to audition, but worry I'm not quite 'tight' enough. The clubs I've been to, not all, but most of the girls there (especially the ones my age) are thin as rails. I'm 5'8", 139 llbs, and about a size five or six. Realistically I don't feel fat, but think maybe I should lose ten pounds before trying it out. I just feel a little soft around the edges in comparison to what the norm is at those clubs. I am losing weight now anyways from running/dieting, but should I wait before I get back down to 125-130ish before going out there? Also, just curious, but how much weight does it generally take before losing breast size? I'm about C or D now, but I don't know if the boobs grew (used to be B) because of going on the pill or because of gaining weight (used to be 120llbs, which ultimately I'm trying to get back to). Thank you everyone!

It could be (and I think it possible is) that your breasts got bigger because you gained the weight. That was an issue for me, and when I lost the weight my boobs went down a cup I believe.
For me personally I'm waiting until I lose at least 10 more pounds and tone up, and tighten up. I'm more soft....like you mentioned. So I want to tone up my areas. Because of this I can't tell you what it's like in the clubs for other girls and what the norm is, sorry! But the best advice I can give you is if you feel that you'll be more comfortable in your own skin by losing the remaining weight, then that's a good thing. If you're more comfortable with the way you look then you'll be more confident in the club environment next to the other girls (even though it shouldn’t really be a competition ya know?) and you'll likely dance better.
    Cheers!

Need a pic to tell. Some girls can carry that weight at that height and look great, others can't. Gotta see to tell.

5'8" and 139 sounds great to me! If you have a tiny frame (thumb and forefinger overlap when reaching around the wrist) then you won't want to gain any weight. However, if your frame is medium (thumb and forefinger barely touch) or large (thumb and forefinger cannot reach each other), your ideal body weight will be anywhere between 135 and 165.

Also remember, the weights of women at some of the higher end clubs are unrealistically low. Take it from me, you'll drive yourself nuts if you're constantly drawing comparisons between yourself and other women. I can't tell you how many times I've felt like a fatass (5'4", 118- medium frame) after seeing a bunch of superthin, coked up girls.

You need to recognize what is truly a healthy weight for you. If you want to firm up - GREAT! go for it... hit the gym like a mad woman... but don't grow obsessed with the scale. Go by the way you look and feel. Just don't strive for the waif look.

Rule #1 of becoming a stripper: learn to love your body. Other people are more likely to love it when you obviously do too.

I'm 5'8" and 147 and I look porportional so I'm sure you look fantastic. There's only one way to find out if you're whatever enough to dance and that's audition...

You're going to drop 10 lbs dancing in the first couple weeks. I wouldn't worry about it. You're new. You're going to make money off being new, toned or not. I think your weight is healthy. Rock your tits. Mine are the same small B at 5'9 145, or at 115.

Thanks everyone. I actually do feel fairly confident at my weight (I felt better before seeing the other dancers, but I think that was just nerves getting me intimidated), and I'm working on the toned thing. But as soon as my outfits come in the mail, I'm good to go...it's so nice to get such objective feedback though. I appreciate it!

You might be thinner, but you'll gain muscle. Toss your scale and you'll be happier.

The girls at the club look thinner due to their shoes, outfits & lighting.

At that height, that weight sounds just fine...maybe even a bit slim actually.

I have been turned down from an audition once, and I hated the place anyways. Two clubs in the immediate area had just shut down, causing a 3-1 dancer-to-customer ratio when I was auditioning. They told me to come back after sixty days and I would be hired (they simply had too many girls working) and then the guy said a little quieter that if i lost 5 lbs and came back after 30 days they would probably hire me. OUCH! that was painful. But i was dancing rather awkwardly and I had a drink before I went in (which I NEVER have done before) and so I might not have been as coordinated. Anyways, what I'm saying is that if you go in and audition the worst they can do is tell you that you need to lose weight you were wondering. Which sucks SO EFFIN' BAD, but it gave me a time frame and it was at least something. More often then not, they will hire you and you'll tone up any problem areas when you start dancing.

Yes everyone should burn their scales!!!!!! Get a plastic tape measure instead.

If you take someone that is 5'8" and toned at 150lbs and someone that is the same height and weight but flabby, they will look completely different. Throw out the scale like they said and just do some cardio with light weights

I agree go by the way you feel and your clothes fit, I started hitting the gym doing weight training and even though the scale only went down4 lbs, my pants went from a 9/10 to a 6!
