Cost of lasering the brazilian way

I so would love to have this done. I would like to know how much anyone paid (in US), how many times it took to get complete, how long each session takes, and the pain involved.
I have so much trouble with shaving right now. I have extremely sensitive skin I guess and to let the hair even grow back a couple days is excruciating. I have to keep shaving and my skin is so unhappy. I need any advise.
    Thanks in advance.

I'm having it done and so far I've had two treatments. I think the cost was around $1200. They say it takes 5 to 8 treatments usually and that after it's done if you have regrowth you can get a discounted price of like $1 per zap of the laser or something like that really cheap for maintenance. I think it hurts less than waxing but some areas down there are more sensitive than others, I guess more nerves in certain spots. Each session is pretty quick. I have sensitive skin and I used to wax and had to stop for this and it sort of sucks becuase then I was getting shaving bumps and irritation. After a couple weeks after each treatment the hair starts falling out and becuase your hair grows in cycles you need several treatments. One thing that really sucks about it is you can't get sun. Each treatment is 10 weeks apart so for over a year I can't get sun on my bikini area. I am happy that I made the decision to do it. Even though I'm not done with my treatments there is definitely less hair and shaving isn't so bad.

As a guy I have never lasered the Brazillian way, but I did have my back done, and the guy I went to charged 99$/hr. It also hurt like hell for me, although other people report no discomfort. There is a topical anesthetic they can use as well which is supposed to numb the pain. It isn't a pain like waxing can be, but more of a repetetive thing that just keeps getting worse.

I've been doing research on getting lasered for armpits and a Brazilian. You can learn a lot about it at -- it's a great site to learn how not to get suckered on this. All laser equipment is not the same. There was a place here that I was considering going to but after I went to that website I discovered that I should ASK what kind of laser they are using. Turns out they're using some kind of antique from 1997 that has a high regrowth rate and the highest likelihood of damaging the skin. NO WAY - so I did more calling around, and actually got a referral from an Electrolysis place. This other outfit uses a state-of-the-art laser that has a 60% no-regrowth rate from each application, which is very good. The website also says that they will try to get you to buy 3-5 sessions in advance, and you should not agree to this because you may only need 2 sessions and you'll have a hard time getting your money back for the unused sessions. Also ask if they have any multiple-body-part specials - this one was offering free armpits with purchase of bikini or "private parts" (I would be getting both, to get a Brazilian.) Remember that laser works best on people with dark hair and light skin, so if you've tanned it may not work so well. Finally, it is not painless - they say it feels like you are being snapped over and over with a rubber band. But that sounds better than a wax to me, and it is so much less costly in the long run. Oh, and if you're standoffish while consulting with them, you may get them to come down substantially on their quote. In a 15 minute conversation on the phone, the girl went from $2450 for 5 sessions of bikini, private, and armpit to just $1940!
