    Default Nuva Ring

OK so I did a search and found nothing new on this subject. I just started the Nuva Ring and so far I hate it and I do mean HATE! I even did another search for a message board online for answers but then thought, why not ask my dancer "pals"?

Yeah, so I have been bleeding every day save for two in the near three weeks since I put it in. It fell out once during sex and once when removing a tampon. I have pretty strong muscles and sometimes can't seem to get it in the right "place" and literally have been able to push it out with some minimal effort.

I am sick of bleeding and I have even seen some terrible mood swings that both my boyfriend and myself pray are from this contraption. Last week everything he did annoyed the piss out of me and this week I feel incredibly insecure and head case mental! LOL! At least we see the humor.

Anyone else used the Nuva Ring? Spotting or bleeding? Know if it will stop? I planned on giving it another month to see it out but after tonight's crying episode and having to explain to bf that I must be posessed by the nuva ring devil, well I am seriously thinking about reconsidering....

    any comments AT ALL welcome....

    Thanks

Whoa. I had to look that one up. Call the doctor, leave a message. I've been infertile forever, so I wouldn't know for sure... But, bleeding everyday is not supposed to happen. Not to mention it sounds like it's killing your quality of life. There's got to be a better way.

I tried the Nuva Ring awhile back, because I can't do birth control (I turn psychotic) but the ring was brand new back then and had the least amount of hormones ever (atleast it did back when I tried it). I didn't have the problems you are having with it falling out or being able to push it out or even with the with moodswings (surprisingly), but it did give me horrible acne and daily migraines.

So, I took it out after three weeks. I hate to say this, but after I took it out, half of my hair fell out over the course of two months. I was terrified but the Dr. said it was the drastic changes in hormones so quickly and it would stop falling out when my body adjusted. She was right, but I'm still growing out my hair two years later (I have all the same length hair--well, its supposed to be anyway *lol*). But, that probably won't happen to you as I'm very sensitive to the hormone stuff.

Oh, I forgot to mention that you are probably bleeding daily--"breakthrough bleeding" because the dosage of hormone is too low. It does have the least amount of hormones, so it won't work for everyone. Just change to a different pill, something similar and your body won't go into shock from severe hormone change-- there are loads of different dosages out there, ask your Dr. for help. Some of the newer ones are very popular--I've heard a lot of good things from people on Yasmin and one other, that I can't think of the name right now.

Have you tried the patch yet? It is also another form of birth control. If you work at a topless club you place it under your thong, not on the hair though .

Wish I could help; I've been on it for a couple of years and haven't ever had any of those problems. Everyone reacts differently to hormonal birth control, though. I wish they could just install a little gate in our ovaries . . .

I really hated the Nuva Ring too. I have a narrow vaginal area, it never fit right, and it once fell out during sex, like you. I didn't even notice it though until the next morning and by then I was no longer protected and had to go back to using condoms with my boyfriend for a week. I didn't have any spotting or unusual bleeding but as soon as I could get back to my gyno I switched back to the traditional ol' pill. The nuva ring was just too cumbersome and irritating, even though it sounded good in theory.

I've never actually used the nuvaring. I was looking into it though because of being on some birth control pills that made me crazy. My poor husband.

The doctor and I decided to try the seasonal (the one on the commercial with only 4 periods a year) and it's been amazing so far. Other birth control pills all made me have mood swings and irritability, among other things. This one has made me feel normal.

The only problem I've seen is that I've started to break out quite a bit more than I used to.
