    Exclamation Hellllp!!

    OK ladies. i need help.

In another failed attempt to preserve my skin from the harmful effects of the sun, i bought the sally hansen aerosol sunless tanner yesterday and skipped the tanning bed.

The result was no less than disastrous. I mean it.

I did everything I was supposed to. Loofahed, shaved, moisturized, and applied the solution with the utmost care. What do I get in return? The fake tan from hell.
I am so orange and streaky. Its awful. I need to go to work tonight.

So far today, I have soaked in a bathtub, done an epsom salt scrub, shaved again, lathered up with anti-dandruff shampoo ( i read somewhere that that helps fade the tan) and I am still a mess. I can't go in to work like THIS! anyone have any ideas... heeeeeeeeellllllp meeeeeeeeeee!

Sorry to tell you, the only thing that worked for me was waiting it out. If you keep exfoliating it sould fade away more quickly, or at least mellow out considerably in a couple of days.

It seems they now sell a product that removes self tanner. It's marketed for the palms, but maybe it would work on the bod too?

Um, maybe try a bronzer or another fake tanner you know works? I like the Endless Summer foam one, goes on easier and show faster so you can even out any missed spots. Might help even you out enough to work tonight.

oh shit! The only thing I'd suggest is maybe trying a lotion or mystic tan over it to even it out. I have trouble with fake tanners unless they are just really light ones. I saw something on the news where they testsed that spray one out and the girls all seemed to think it was a ripoff.

What gets it off is alcohol. Just keep rubbing and it will all come off.

I self tan too and I've had some issues too. I agree probably the best thing is to self tan over it to even it out. Other things you could try- If there's sort of a small area that you want the tan to come off- you could mix sugar with a little oil and keep rubbing it on the skin until the tanner comes off. It sort of hurts but it works. If you have a small area where the tanner came off then use Revlon Colorstay foundation in the tan color with powder to cameflage it.
The your tan probably won't look too bad in the club though with the lights. I've worked with a streaky tan before and still made money then I went to the grocery store and people looked at me weird because the blotchness was much more noticeable in normal light.

well, i went to the tanning salon yesterday, desperate for some immediate help, but the counter boy was more interested in trying to flirt.. sheesh.

so, i scrubbed some more, loofahed again, did a tanning session with a high tingle/bronzing lotion. The end result : I still looked like hell so I didn't work.

Today I'm a little better. I tanned again, and it seems to be helping to disguise the light, streaky spots. I'm going to go ahead and work tonight, but i am going to threaten the DJ's life if he puts high lights while i'm onstage tonight! heh.

lesson learned. I guess my skin just doesn't take to fake tanners - I've yet to find one that was decent on me. oooh well
Thanks for all the tips though, ladies. Much appreciated, as usual!
