    Default friends

Ask anybody and they will tell you the last place to try and pick up women is at a SC. Even more so, common sense tells you the same thing.
Searching these forums, it seems this opinion is also shared by everyone here.

    I too agree.
    But you can become "friends"
We all know that the term friend covers a very broad spectrum.
Means many different things to many different folks.

I also know that stereotypes exist for a reason.
Unfortunately, the majority seems to set the impression for the whole.
Applies to all stereotypes in my opinion.

With this in mind, a majority of the dancers Ive encountered tend to party, tend to be younger, tend to have emotional and physical addictions, tend to have more sexual partners, tend to have fewer inhibitions, and arent usually looking for a long term, "married with kids situation'( at the present time..)

Having a reputation as a good man( not an income opportunity), who can be trusted not to freak out on ya, who wont be clingy or jealous or controlling, who is a gentleman and a badboy at the same time, is openminded and just wants to have a good time, is quite advantageous when applied to the above circumstances.

    Peace

Not to burn ya on your first post,

but yea, in short "there are exceptions to every rule"

Dancers, Hookers, Politicians, Farmers. THEY ALL HAVE ONE THING IN COMMON. They're people. And they MAY think you fit something they want to get to know more than professionally.

Stereotypes are stereotypes and nothing more. If you seek out young dancers with the characteristics you mentioned then that is what you will find. You can also find women with these characteristics working in many other occupations as well.

My experiences have been quite the opposite. The majority of dancers I know are in their late twenties to early thirties and work 5 or more shifts a week to support themselves and their families. They don't party much and tend to go for months without boyfriends because they are tired of being saught after as a trophy rather than a person. Most of them look forward to achieveing the goals that brought the to dancing, getting out, and having normal lives.

The reality is that both types of dancers exist as well as many other types in between. In over 20 years of clubbing I've found that it's fairly easy to avoid the types I don't like and seek out the ones that I do.

I agree that being a gentleman is always advantageous. In any situation.

Okay. I will ad Strip Clubs to my list of places not to meet the opposite sex.

Just this week, I have also added:
    Karate Demonstrations
    Firing Ranges
    Tractor Pulls
    Waffle House
My latest conspiracy theory: I am convinced that Dick Cheney is, in reality, Elmer Fudd.

Don't throw out Waffle House, it's a virtual plethora of late night drunk hotties. And burned out waitresses too, sometimes they are semi-doable!

Politicians are people? Damn, I'd never really considered that before.

The first step of friendship is to be accepting, supportive and non-judgemental. So I'm a bit surprised to find a thread on friends beginning with a harsh and tired stereotype.

We've sure had our run of dancer stereotype threads lately. Perhaps we need an "auto-stereotype generator" that automatically posts an equally harsh and inaccurate stereotype on customers ("tired, broke, underemployed, boring, self-obsessed, controlling, hopeless pathetic losers who have dead-end lives, drink too much, are physically repulsive and who need to pay dancers to give them the physical attention they so desperately seek.")

I think you just summed it up in one paragraph.

No most custys are cool, its just a few that make me wanna schedule some elective surgery before their next visit to avoid seeing them and putting up with their bs.

The vast majority of my regular custys are cool. And they see the sweet, nice amylynne instead of the ranting bitch everyone sees here. LOL

The loss of the Waffle House and a location and means of meeting women is one of the truly deplorable and sad aspects of 21st Century American culure. It's impact has yet to be fully realized, but we can see the tragedy inherent in it's loss.
