    Leg Hair Removal

    Hello, clueless speaking.

I've always shaved, but I want to try something like Nair. Any ideas? Waxing is right out, but I'm open to drugstore hair removal systems.
    What's cheap/easy/ouchless/smells nice/etc.?
    One box, two boxes?
    Proper prep/aftercare?
    How long does it last?
    Tips/tricks?

    Thanks ever so much!

I can tell you don't use Nair. Or, at least be very careful. That stuff is dangerous.

Nair smells SO bad, and it made my legs break out with a nasty rash! Proceed at your own risk!

I have used Veet here and there even tho' I primarily am a waxer. This might be a good way to 'soften up' your leg hair so you can get waxed .... or even save up the $$ for laser hair removal or electrolysis (sp?).

I have a girlfriend from Kavakstan and she is very hairy, lol. She started using that epi-lady plucking system. She said it was painful the first time, like plucking your eyebrows but then after that she got use to it. She only has to do it once weekly now. She said she still shaves the bikini area though. Me personally, I just shave every other day. Shaving every day tears my skin up. When a guy asks about shaving, I just tell them I shaved this morning, it already grew back. Most guys have the same problem with their face so they understand.

Those prewaxed pull-apart strips are great as long as they're resin wax. Most "wax" nowadays is nothing more than a sugar solution that isn't sufficient unless you really know how to use it, and the formula breaks down if you get it too hot. The One Touch brand makes great wax, both hot and strips. It's sold in some Walgreens stores, but I might have to start ordering it online if it keeps disappearing from shelves.

Nair sucks, it stinks, it burns, and it leaves a really bad rash that you have to hide for a couple of days. I actually grew my hair out two months ago so I could have it waxed ( i looked like a freak while it was growing) waxing was alright, I only grew it out for two weeks, I would recommend a month to make sure all the hairs are long enough to get yanked out. Even though I only had two weeks of growth I could see a huge difference. I didn't stick to the waxing cuz I didn't want to look freakish all summer (they tell you not to shave in between otherwise you'll get into the every two week syndrome where you have to wax every two weeks) Just from that one session though I could tell big time that I would be spending a lot less time shaving. Over the next month and half to two months I have done quick touch up shaves, but I'm starting to tell that it's getting back to the way it was. If I can in the winter I'm going to let it grow and have it all yanked out at once. then I'll only have to wax once a month and NO shaving!

By the way, waxing wasn't too bad, I took ibuprofen an hour before I went, but when I was there most of the leg was pretty painless, the part that hurt the worse was around my ankles, it's SO sensitive. I just bit through it. It was worth it.

I used Nair once on my legs years ago and it burned so badly I will never try it again. There may be more mild types now but I'm telling you my legs were on fire!
