You can't completely remove history from what I understand.. your hard drive stores it.. you might want to Pm madcap or Polecat.. they seem to know a lot about computers..

Remove hard drive. Place on driveway. Smash to smithereens with sledgehammer.

Since you mentioned being an internet dork and not wanting the websites you've visited to come up, I think, If I understand you, correctly, there's two different things you need to do. One is the history. There is a setting that lets you change the number of days it saves. You can change that to 0. Another is the thing where it automatically fills in the blanks for you. Say you want to come here to stripperweb so you start to type in "www.str" and it completes if for you. You can turn off the automatic fill in thing. I think that is under settings also. I think you check off "auto complete".

PC's method will work...unless you have an experienced person that has physical access to the rig that you'd rather not. In that case, you'll need something like this, otherwise you can recover quite a bit of data from machines even where you have used the menus PC listed above--especially if you're handy with keyloggers and the like.

You have to overwrite data a minimum of 3 times on NTFS 7 times on FAT32.

If you're worried about people seeing which websites you go to, I suggest using profile manager in firefox and password protect it. Also there are a lot of extensions out there for firefox that remove history immidiatly after exiting/whatever

Yeah, you've gotta get rid of it... I caught one of my really straight-laced old girlfriends checking out porn sites through the internet history one time...when I mentioned it, the girl went white...maybe even blue...all blood rushed out of her face...hysterical really

If you are using WindowsXP, then you can set up a user account for each of you to use. Then you can browse anything you want without worrying about history settings, and he doesn't have to worry either. You each pretty much have your own existence on the computer.

You can do as Polecat but I also recommend you buy and install WinCleaner One-Click Cleanup ( http://www.wincleaner.com ). It's easy and gets the job done
