Default Toronto Authorities Discover That Miss Universe's Body Attracts Attention

    Miss Universe against law

CANADIAN Miss Universe Natalie Glebova was forced to take off her official sash at a local festival celebrating Thailand when Toronto authorities invoked a law against sexual stereotyping.

The winner of the international beauty competition held in Bangkok in May, Glebova was to open the festival last weekend sporting her official beauty queen's regalia.
However, city employees invoked a regulation against activities which degrade men and women through sexual stereotypes or exploit their bodies to attract attention.

'It's this bloody thing that does it,' she said, ripping off the scarlet sash of the Junior Anti-Sex League and flinging it on to a bough. Then, as though touching her waist had reminded her of something, she felt in the pocket of her overalls and produced a small slab of chocolate.

that just might be the stupidest law I've ever heard of. I am trying to think of something more stupid, and I just can't. I am visiting Toronto next week...am I allowed to wear a suit? That outfit sort of stereotypes me as a man. Sweet jebus....

Mr. H: I think it would depend on whether your body ranked sufficiently high enough on the hotness scale to attract attention.

To make a definitive legal intrepretation we'd need to see some nekkid pics.

Hmm. There are strip clubs in Toronto. This is a stripper board. Any of our Toronto dancers care to comment?

Here was an editorial of sorts from a conservative Canadian news website. It kind of explains the situation a little better. Apparently the city leaders in Toronto seem to be cut from the same cloth that a lot of university professors here in the U.S. are.

This part had me in stitches:

If that wasn’t enough, the musical group, The Barenaked Ladies was banned from playing at Nathan Phillips Square on New Year’s Eve, 1991. As well, the group who when they appear are neither "barenaked" or "ladies", were banned from ever appearing at city-sponsored events because their name "objectifies women".

Well, I gotta admit I did get sick and tired of hearing "Pinch Me" when it was on the charts.
I can hide out under there, i just made you say underwear s:

Toronto Mayor David Miller has apologized to Miss Universe..
Bureaucrats dug up a 1990 bylaw. No sashes, no titles, no hints of beauty pageants or queens allowed on the City square.
    Diplomats shook their heads.

Anyway, this is all BS… Ontario is well known for the best place to get “dances”.

Mr. Hyde, you’ll have a great time in Toronto!! If you’d like some suggestions on clubs PM me

God, I feel so, so objectified...

Oh, id also like to add that it is legal for a woman to prance around topless in any public place in Toronto (besides “family” venues) .. I’ve only seen two woman do it.. one had brand new implants which she wanted to show of and the other was a regular girl with really saggy boobs lol.

I think it's ironic that she was de-sashed during an event that celebrates Thailand. Isn't Bangkok known for it's raunchy, ping pong ball ladden sex shows?

How do they know what a stereotype is? What if Miss Universe was a transman?

In the US, they have pageants, but you can't enter if you've ever posed for Playboy or done so much as walked around naked in public. Ok.... But in Toronto can walk around naked and do sex work but you can't be in a pageant. If a Canadian could please enlighten us because we are confused on this side.
