    Default growing out nails

Hey so I"m off of the fake nails kick for awhile, and I'm trying to grow mine out (both toes and fingers) anyways, I was wondering if anyone knows any products that enhance nail growth (like the walmart hair pills) or if anyone knows if those nail polishes that say that they make nails grow faster and strong really work.

    Thanks much!

Try using biotin... It works really well to grow out hair but is also really good for your nails. You can find it at any GNC (or most drug stores).

My mom swears by gelatin. She puts the unflavored kind (yuck) in her morning orange juice. Eating Jello may do the same thing.

I just bought Hair, Skin, and Nails vitamins after reading the Wal Mart hair pills thread. I've only been taking them for 2 days, so it's too soon to tell if they are working, but if they work, I'll let you know

I would stick to biotin and silica too.
Also maybe get some solar oil from ULTA to put on your nails to keep them healthy. It smells really good and seems to be helping. I kicked the fake nails habit about a year ago.

Knox Nails powder really works well. It has lots of biotin and gelatin in it. It tastes ok, make sure to mix it well with cold water and put it in the frigde for a minute. Or throw it into a smoothie, it will give it an orange taste.

Pre-natal pills work wonders. I've been using the generic ones from Target (like 8 bucks for 200, 1 a day). I also use nail tique #2 and sally hansen nail growth activater between manicures.

i take calcium, and that helps. also, eat lots of gelatin (jello works just as well as knox, in my experience) and take vitamin E. it helps hair, skin and nails. pushing your cuticles back regularly with a manicure stick (don't tear them up or dissolve them) incites them to grow. i've never had any luck with the paint on nail growth stuff, no matter what kind i buy- don't waste your money. i've never tried the hair and nails vitamins, though. how many of you have had good results with these? do they make your hair grow, too?

o, and remember to smooth the edges with a file every day, and remove hangnails immediately, so they won't tear.
