    Default Working in Winnipeg, MB

Hello! I am new to the boards, and a search on Winnipeg clubs didn't turn up much info- so, I'd like to ask if anyone has the 411 on working in the Peg.

I have only worked in Toronto, but I'm sick of it, to be frank- I'd like to work someplace where my shows will be more emphasized. So if anyone has any general info about what it's like and what cubs might be good to try, I'd really appreciate it. In return I can provide plenty of info on the Toronto/ GTA area as I've worked here for 4 years.

    Thanks a lot!

I went to winnipeg in May and I went to a bar called The Gentlemans Club. It was friday night right before closing and it was not busy at all. I guess Teasers is the busiest club there. I never went to check it out.

    Have you been to www.stripclublist.com

There are threads on this board about winnipeg because I looked them up before my bf and I went there on our trip. Just do a search.

As a customer in the Peg, I can tell you this:

    - Other than the Gentlemen's Club and feature girls, the dancers don't work exclusively for one place. Their shift involves travelling to multiple clubs in Winnipeg.

    - I only rarely see guys tip, even those in pervert's row next to the stage. Instead, the dancers have to play games. For example, they may hang a keychain with their portrait from their nipple, and guys toss loonies and toonies at it. Whoever knocks it off gets it.

    - No lapdances. A private dance consists of air dances only, but the dancer must still be on a stage. Customers don't have much interest in paying $20 to basically see the same thing they would on stage. Instead, the girls sell raffle tickets for $1, and the DJ picks a winner who gets a private show.

Having been to clubs in Toronto myself, I suspect you'd be disappointed with those in Winnipeg.

    Hope this helps.

This week I danced for a guy here in Toronto who told me how he and his buddies love the strip clubs out west, Winnipeg to Calgary... his favorite part was that you get to throw dollar-coins at the dancers. First he orders a class of ice, and puts some coins on ice so they are nice and cold when he throws them at the dancer's vagina (that's how they tip). Then, he takes out hit lighter and heats up some more coins until their 'red and ready'. Then he throws the scorching coins at the dancer, hoping to burn her.

For whatever reason dancers out west think that in Toronto we are so degraded because we do lapdancing. But seriously, having someone throw metal coins at my hooch is just way too low for me. And I wasn't joking, many guys heat the coins and try to burn girls.

You are better off trying to book yourself as a feature here in Toronto at various clubs. For example Treasures, etc., where they pay you a nice fee for your shows.

    Good luck.

Oooookay, having coins thrown at me does NOT sound like my scene at all. I thought there was money to be made from being booked in for shows- here, we can go on schedule but schedule pay is quite low. Features seem to have fallen by the wayside, but I will follow up on the Treasures idea- thanks 242_ fair. It's a very nice club; I wouldn't mind working there.

    Thanks everyone!

So, I will be in Winnipeg for one week (Jan 30th to Feb 04)- if anyone has any updated info, please let me know! Will be jamming, but I think the Marion will be home base. Thanks!

YES. I second this. I have heard the exact same things from western guys visting Ottawa. I also wondered why the hell lapdancing is seen as comparatively degrading or whatever. Give me a lapdance over coin tossing at my crotch and dragging magnets across a stage anyday!

Haven't danced in AB yet (no coin toss in BC or Winnipeg), but for an extra $250/day, toss all the coins you want! I have heard of the guys heating the loonies- that's shitty, but rare. I know a crapload of girls that go to AB regularly, and no one who's done it complains about the coin toss!

Regarding Winnipeg, info on Teasers, the Marion and the Gentleman's club especially appreciated.

This is completely unacceptable behavior. Sadistic bastards. If I saw this going on, I'd have a few big coins to toss at their teeth!!!

Hard to believe anyone would put up with that.
I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.

NOTE: anything I post here, outside of a direct quote, is my opinion only, which I am entitled to. Take it for what you estimate it is worth.

    Hello Ladies

I also have been looking into Winnipeg from what I hear one of the agent to go through are Superb Entertainment for Manitoba and Thunder Bay. You do a lot of shows all around town so a car would be best to have or you can find a driver for the week. Good Luck and keep us updated. Let me know when you are thinking about heading there I might be there then

We had a couple of feature dancers at my club recently who were terrified to go into the VIP because of the guys who throw coins at the dancers out west. We told them it doesnt happen here but it took them awhile to warm up to the idea. They were even nervous looking on stage eyeing the guys around perv row. The whole idea of men throwing coins at me is enough to make me want to avoid out west... yet i've been told the money in AB/BC is really good. Im just a mixture of conflicted emotions latley... lol.

Oh my goodness. I work solely in AB and I have never had anyone throw heated loonies at me (and if they did it wouldn't be only me who was mutilating them). Also, I know very few girls who spread their legs onstage at all, let alone use their vaginas as loonie targets. Most girls use a beer jug or some other container, or roll up a poster as a loonie receptacle, and some girls will lick their finger and use saliva to stick magnets/keychains/loonies to their stomach/hip/whatever. Guys who even throw too hard are fair game for reprimanding and most bouncers are on the ball with that kind of thing.
