    Default wrinkles

what do you all do to prevent them? aren't people who work in areas that are filled with cigarette smoke more likely to develop them...and sometimes at a younger age? i just noticed that i'm starting to develop a wrinkle at the very top of my forehead. i just turned 21. is it me, or does this seem a bit young to be getting wrinkles?

is there any way to reverse the process?

right now i use oil of olay total effects.

Wow,21....It's true that the club atmosphere is not good for your skin, but if you take good care of it starting young, you should be OK.Use good lotions, have a good diet, take vitamins and remember to take your make up off before bed.I'm 10 yrs older than you and my skin still looks very young, nobody believes my age.So don't worry,if you take good care of yourself, you'll be allright!

If you smoke, you will get wrinkles alot faster than being in the atmosphere alone with smoke. Especially around you're mouth!

If you put on a heavy moisturizer that protects the skin directy from the environment you are doing great! BUT, second hand smoke is bad, so try to get fresh air alot!
Also you're forehead.... You have got to quit raising up you're forehead, or eyebrows. Go look in the mirror, and you will see what is the reason for this wrinkle. We tend to do facial expressions over and over and this is the result.

It's natural movement! Like laughing, you will get crows feet around you're eyes.

Ya know they used to say always keep a poker face and you will never have a wrinkle. But, you wont have any friends either!

Botox in the future will smooth that crease out! For about 3 months. Try Retin A, or over the counter acid creams!!!!!

    Good luck,

If it's the beginning of lines that you see, try a AHA, BHA or retinol product. I would start with an OTC product like Estee Lauder's Diminish. It can be used as a night time moisturizer if you have oily skin. If you're a combo to dry skin, use it under your moisturizer.

Wear sunscreen religously even when you're not planning on going outside for great legnths of time. Coincidental sun exposure (like when you go to the mailbox, drive short distances, etc.) is still damaging to the skin, and remember, once sun damage is accumulated in the skin it can take years for it to appear and by then there's very little you can do to help reverse it.

You don't nessesarily need heavy moisturizers to protect your skin, but you do need to at least moisturize. Find a good one that fits your skin type and contains vitamins and anti-oxidents. They even make them with sunscreens.

Basic skincare rule: protect in the day, repair at night. Sunscreen and vitiman enriched skincare to prevent aging should be worn in the AM, any anti-wrinkle or resurfacing products should be used at bed time.

I agree with the above posts. In the am, focus on sunscreen and moisturizing. In the pm, go with Retin-A or another strong wrinkle cream. Retin-A is preached about as being the fountain of youth, but at 21, you're still young and this may be too strong. Alpha-Hydroxy makes a good AHA moisturizer which may be better for your skin.

For us more experienced girls, I really like weekly glycolic peels, vitamin C serums, and more moisturizing creams (you can PM me or do a search for a really good glycolic peel seller on ebay). And I'm sure, one of these days, I'll be heading out for botox.

Dont underestmate the effect of drinking water. Your skin is the biggest organ in your body and the best way to keep it hydrated is to drink water. Remember AT LEAST 2L a day. Also, moisturise, moisturise, moisturise. You dont need to spend loads of money on moisturiser, just find one that you feel suits your skin. Also when applying make sure you give your skin a good massage. This helps tone and tighten facial mucsles which will minamize wrinkles appearancde- think about it, when you do crunches to tighten your stomach, the skin ther tightens too. It works the same on your face. Use a separate eye cream too as this area is more delicate and needs a more effective cream,
