I have some trouble areas to work on before I start dancing again.
If you ladies could share some of your workout, and diet tips, that keep you in such great shape, I'd be extremely grateful.

All I can tell you, is that if you just need to "Tone up" a little.. go back to work..
do a search on Tonalin CLA...

Diet-watching is also key. Try to eat a lot of natural foods. By that I mean food that can be grown or hunted, not man-made. Also try and skip out on nuts or at least cut back on them.

Watch what you eat,
no sugar.......but DON'T do the atkins diet where you cut carbs out completely. It's bad for you.
Cut out sweets and pop
Make a conscious effort to eat a lot of veggies, fruits and lean meats like Chicken and turkey.
I stocked up on lean cuisines for awhile just to get myself used to eating healthier smaller meals.
I'll start cooking for myself soon, which helps greatly.
Oh and I take Tonalin and I run for a half an hour each day, 4-5 times a week. I also try to lift weights here and there.
run as much as you can believe me it will do you wonders and watch your diet!
It's always difficult for me to diet and say that I am restricted certain foods. So, I just try adding in the good stuff. For example, instead of saying I can't drink soda, I will aim to have one after I have my eight glasses of water...by the end of the day I wind up having no room for the soda!
Sorry my English not so good.
I am enjoying often evryday I climb many steps in my local park. Also the gym and bycycle riding. I cannot run.
I eat good food but no snacks. Only fruit. Drinking all day water.

Hahaha your english is alot better than most folks I know. You're doing good girlOriginally Posted by Penelope B

yes this is me. May you can see my site .
I model in Germany.
Wow Penny you have a great body!
I usually try to work out for about 1- 1/2 hours a day 5 times a week. I do abs for 20-30 minutes cardio for at least 1/2 and hour (Cardio is a mix of tapes and dvds at home The Firm Tae-Bo YourselfFitness) and Ill do Windsor Pliates to cool down and strech and if I have time Ive been doing the Carmen Electra Fit to Strip DVD 1 and the lapdance 1 to work on my moves.
I run.....lift weights....squats....lunges.....dance (obviously)....eat egg whites and tuna fish and coffee only.... I have the best body at the club I dance at btw........oh ya and take vitamans
oops i forgot I also do thoes buns of steel tapes and I do a zillion crunches.......man its hard work to look goodwhat can I say exercising is a fact of life

I gave up and adopted fitness as a new way of life. I thought you wanna be skinny; work for it and its worth it.
Youll live longer and healther anyway. Ive been changing around everything in my diet and workout. For now I weight train 4 days a week and do cardio (treadmill on high incline and eliptical) 4-5 days a week.
Big thing for me is stop eating so much complex carbs like bagels, pasta and cereal. Also giving up large quantities of condiments like mayo, ketchup, soy sauce, butter, and sugar. I have to monitor all those very closely.

I cut out all fast food.. I haven't had fast food in almost a year.. you'd be surprised what doing that alone will do.. incredible how much better you feel when you stick to making your meals at home.

If you want to get into shape, diet and cardio will get you there. However, I suggest adding in weight training. A lot of women I talk to about this dont train because they dont want to get "bigger". If you add in lifting weights, either through machines or free weights, you will add on lean muscle which will increase your metabolic rate. Cardio burns fat when you do cardio, more lean muscle will burn more calories throughout the whole day. I suggest that women take a high rep approach with minimal rest between sets. You will burn fat and sculpt your muscles, you won't get "muscle bound".
BTW, looking good Penny![]()

I am an infrequent female custy, but I used to be a professional wrestler. Staying in tip top shape is work. As others have mentioned, a healthy diet is key. A sports nutritionist can help here but it really takes personal discipline. I would suggest 1 meal a week where you can eat your favorite "bad" food, just not in large quantity. Also, use a daily vitamin supplument,
Cardio and weight-training are the building blocks for a great body. I'm 40 now, and still run 3-5 miles per day. I cut back on my weight-training because I no longer need the muscles I had when I was a wrestler but still train 3 days a week. When weight-training for stripping, I would suggest low weight and high reps on each exercise.
Other things you can do. No smoking or drinking. Stay away from soda, and drink lots of water instead. We americans have a very salty diet, prepare your own meals and cut down on salt as much as possible. Natural sugars are okay like in fruits. Snack on things like raw carrots or celeray.
If you are eating in a restaraunt, gravitate towards chicken and turkey. If you get a salad, get the dressing on the side. Dip your fork into the dressing, then stab the salad...you will use 1/5 of the dressing and still get the same taste.
In my opinion, strippers are atheletes. You need to treat your body like the temple it is.
I hired a personal trainer on May 1st and OMG...the best thing I ever did. I still see him twice a week and not only am I in the best shape of my life (despite having been very good about going to the gym in certain periods in my life), I feel better.
It's a great investment in yourself. I will not want to give him up. He ends up being like $100/week, but what he does for my earnings exceeds that. I'm a more positive person and my confidence has soared.
I don't understand how girls can get in shape from working, but good for them if they can. I found that that's simply not enough for me.
To dancing I am a sort of newbie, however, ..
I went through the personal trainer routine and I went bankrupt and picked it up myself ..
I try to be bad several times a week, - fast food - chicken, or the occasional french fry sort of .. bucket, then egg whites, chick peas, salad, non fat milk in everything, light olive oil in everything - no margerine, ketchup, butter, etc., fish (boiled or baked), turkey, rarely pork, oatmeal with water for breakfast - kills your appetite for good, vitamins, work out 5 times a week, take the stairs whenever I can. When you lift moderate weights there are certain ways you can do it so that it counts as cardio as well so you can kill two birds with one stone. With age, at some point cardio will not be enough. I find more than 5 times a week, about 1 hr + workout sessions, is too much to handle. Drink tons of water, green tea, some coffee, juice, try to have no sugar, also - lots of chocolate - I don't know.. Keep a balance between low fat and bad foods.
Lots of sleep when you can get it. Feel good about yourself. I find putting yourself in a depressed mood for whatever reason is harmful. Whatever anybody says - if they are hurtful things - most times they don't know what they are saying or they don't really mean it so it's no use to work yourself up about it.
Discipline and keeping your mindset in the "zone" is everything. Get up and go to the gym .. whenever you do it - morning, night, etc. Don't think about it. Just get yourself there. Once you're there you'll find out what to do. Have a positive thinking. Don't say "from tomorrow on I will kill myself and I will lose a thousand pounds". (You're setting yourself for failure and more binging.) It won't happen, sweetheart, you will most likely be the same weight at the end of the day, and you may hurt yourself. Make small steps. Build on the changes. Take it easy. The Romans didn't conquer the world in one day.
Also, a personal thing - I don't know about you, challenge yourself. Make your life interesting. I find it keeps most people away from food because your mind is busy with thinking about other things and you get rewarded with what you accomplish .. that kind of thing.
You may think it's about the weight but it's not really about that. It starts somewhere within yourself, .. I hate to sound like Oprah's sidekick - this guy, I forgot his name. Bottomline you are not happy with something and you are eating to silence that feeling. OK people don't kill me if it sounds too weird, please.
Don't take anything seriously! Try. - I mean, the things that you take seriously and bother you .. make you worried, anxious, that kind of thing. No matter how much you worry it won't change the reality of things, and the reality of things rarely has to do with insulting hurtful things people tell you. You pay your bills, right? So don't listen to the rest of stupid things people tell you. Most of them are insecure or whatever. .. OK I should stop.
I am talking about the emotional side because it affects your sleep, especially if you are a woman, and if you don't sleep well, you eat more (scientifically proven) and you eat junk food and you don't have energy to have productive workouts - dragging your feet along makes your workout useless. And in America with the stressful lives people have, much more stressful than Europe, it's easy to lose those appetite markers, mood controllers, etc. So you end up washed up and hating your life and yourself .. and working out a gazillion times a week and starving to death and the most you can do is have a synthetic smile and no joy of life and you won't be happy, you'll still hate yourself, even if you are pencil thin, you'll still think you will have to lose weight ...
Penny - you look amazing!! WOW!
Thank you people for having the patience to read my post.
maybe im just wierd but i dont excercize. i am a 5'6 and weigh 135. i am fairly toned. al i do is watch what i eat. i think excercize is aweful. i wouldnt mind riding a bike, but anything else jsut seems like pure torture. i could be in a bit better shape, but im pretty happy where i am at body wise, and my money is good so i dont see the point in working out.
