anyone here had any good results with trimspa?? i took one today and it gave me a bit of a headache and left me a bit jittery... just wondering if this is normal.

also, any one have any other alternatives to help stick to a low calorie diet ??
i try to diet, but i have a huge appetite. ..any suggestions for a more natural way to suppress your cravings or any other appetite suppressant meds that are healthier??

Oh god! Diet pills are horrible! I've taken them before for years and they didn't really do anything but make me jittery. The best way to suppress your appetite and lose weight is it eat. Like, have an apple instead of popping a diet pill. Your body will drop the weight faster cuz you're always feeding it, you're getting the nutrition you need, and most fruits and vegetables have negative calories anyway (that one's according to my mom, but if it speeds up your metabolism in the long run, they're negative either way).

EDIT: Oh yea, and make sure you drink at least 8 oz of water a day! Especially before eating.

I was just about to say drink water before and/or during a meal. This is a sure-fire way to suppress your apetite. Another is to instead of having 3 large meals a day is to change your eating habits to, say, 6 smaller sized meals a day: breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner.

Stick to water (lemon water is okay) or non-caffinated teas during that time that is after dinner and two hours before you go to bed. Do not eat within that 2 hour period - just drink.

I used to try to curb my appetite since I have a high metabolism... I used to take Brewer's Yeast pills. They helped.

Trimspa worked maybe once. The next time in made me puke. Then it made me puke from below if ya know what I mean.

Phentermine doesn't work for shit. Green tea and yerba matte give energy and can help suppress the appetite a tiny bit, but not much.

My scripted meds suppress the appetite but you'd want to be depressed, bipolar, and ADHD before you get those, and its really not a good state to be in.

Find a way for you to comfortably shrink your stomach over time, like a mostly liquid + fiber rich diet with supplements so you don't lose vitamins while reducing your food intake.

I know this works because I dieted, then was invited to a Mexican Sunday dinner....I was trying to jam taquitos down my gullet on top of all the other food....I didn't want to be rude & refuse all the food, but I was dying! LOL

Drink PLENTY of water, eat every two to three hours, when you eat you should try combining protein with carbohydrate, and fat(good fat, such as the kind found in nuts, or salmon) , and make sure that you are getting enough fiber (this will help keep you full longer) and also take a multi-vitamin--sometimes our bodies aren't really hungry, but if we are lacking certain nutrients, or vitamins we can be tricked into thinking that we are really hungry when we aren't, this is why it is very important to take a multi-vitamin.

Diet pills always have made me ill...and they're such a waste of money. Follow what the other girls said and also if you're craving sugar, get some sugarfree gum and chew on that. It should distract you well enough.

Well 6-8 meals is a little excessive, I would say eat five to six meals, and water and green tea are great because green tea speeds up the metabolism. But fruit juice is not something you should be comsuming if you are trying to shed pounds.
Fruit juice is full of simple carbohydrates, and is very high on the glycemic index. Instead of having fruit juice, it is much better to just have a piece of fruit. Fruit will satisfy you more, it has more nutrients, and it doesn't have all of the added sugars that juice does.

I have been taking Adipex (Phentermine, speed basically) to drop the baby weight. I lost 50 pounds in four months. Diet, cardio, and weight training. It has worked for me but I wouldn't suggest for long term. I agree with the girls, drink lots of water, chew gum if you have a sweet craving, ..... anyone else out there not gain weight eating peanut butter? When I feel really hungry and an apple just won't do it, I have a few bites of peanut butter and my hunger completely goes away. I will eat even less of it if it is refrigerated. I compensate for the fat by not eating as many carbs or no carbs that day. Keep busy and don't have any crap in the house to snack on. Does everyone stay away from caffeine? Brewers yeast? Anyone else try it? Where do you get it?

I'd say eat a lot of healthy protein. You'll feel full longer, and I don't think you can bloat bc. there are no starches/whatever. Ummm and drink lots of water.....I drink at least 5L a day, it keeps everything going along smoothly, gets rid of bloat and water weight and clears up your skin. But, I pee about 50 times a day. I tried Stackers 2 before, they made me lose weight but I think it was bc. of the foul taste in my mouth that they gave me. Yich.....

When I diet down, I'm hungry constantly for the first 1-2 weeks. Once you get past that point, your stomach starts shrinking and most of your cravings should go away. I always tell people once you get past week 2 of a diet, things get a lot easier.
One way to reduce hunger is to eat more, smaller meals through out the day, like many in this thread have suggested. You can eat more high fiber carbs, they take longer to burn and will help you feel full longer. If you feel the need to take a supplement, hoodia is probably the best appetite supressant out now. Small meals, lots of water, and whenever I get a craving to munch out, I force myself to do a 15-20 minute workout instead. Often when I'm done I no longer have the craving, but if I do, at least I've already burned some of the calories.

It seems unnecessary to say but perhaps it should be mentioned that when you do eat your meals should be high in fresh fruits and vegetables, go easy on the processed, pre-packaged, and hi-fat foods.

As someone mentioned, after your stomach shrinks it gets a lot easier... except it can be tiresome explaining to the waitresses that no, it's not that you didn't like the food, it's just that their 'serving size' adds up to three of your meals, lol...

Like others said,to controll your appetite, you have to shrink your stomack,it will take a few days to a couple of weeks to do it.After that it will be much easier because you will teach your body new habits. It's hard not to slip though, because say if you go out with friends to a restaurant and look at that wonderfull menu, you know what can happen...

Diet pills/fat burners IMO isn't such a good idea.I've been taking them for many years, and maybe they did help, but they make you feel like crap, even the ephedra-free ones.I stopped taking them close to a year ago and fell now much better, even not as tired.

Recently went to a vitamin shop to check out some alternatives, and the lady at the counter suggested Hoodia Gordoni(sp?),she said that the pills were so powerful curbing appetite, that they made her sick,so I said "I'll take them!".But after trying them I can say that I saw no difference whatsoever (maybe it's just my body). So I wont waiste the money anymore, and just stick to eating less and healthy.

Has anyone tried Iso-Flex protein power?

I just bought some today and am hoping that I get some results from it. It's the stuff in the dark blue container. It has all these vitamines and is 90% protein. It's low cal, no fat, no carb. The man at the counter said to take it to stay away from the carbs, he said to have some whenever you feel like munching. If anyone has tried it share what your experience was like please.

Diet pills can backfire. If you take them regularly and then break the cycle your appetite could come back with a venganace. Whenever I feel the urge I drink water. Sometimes the body says hungry when it really means thirsty.

Prior to my surgery, the biggest meal I ate was a salad with grilled chicken or steak with some non fat cottage cheese and water. In the mornings, it was coffee(sorry, NEVER giving up my coffee.. even with the jaw wired shut, I'm drinking, well, slurping, my coffee!).. anyways, coffee and Nature Valley cinnamon or peanut butter granola bars, and snacks were string cheese and low fat yogurt. Lunch consisted of a can of tuna and some fruit. I took tonalin, jogged three or miles per day and I drank tons of water.. I cut out all fast food, ALL sugar.. no sugar at all.. I lost 30 plus pounds in two months. I went from 148ish to 115 pounds. I've maintained my weight for over a year.

i haven't tried trimspa, but i have tried stacker 2s when they still had ephedra. i got jittery and a headache as well. actually, i even think that the left side of my chest started to feel a little tight..which freaked me out. i think the headache is a result of your blood pressure getting high. those diet pills will def. raise your blood pressure.

in order to curb ur appetite, i would drink more water, eat smaller meals more frequently (just don't limit your number of meals TOO much so you don't end up binging) and...exercise. exercising takes away my appetite. also, much of the time, according to an article i read, many people mistake hunger with thirst. so drink up!
