The club that I'm working at now doesn't really allow any hustle. There's actually NO talking to the customers except for when you're on stage. However, the dances are priced high and 9/10 guys who come in sit at the stage for a few minutes and then buy dances.
This is working for me partly because I'm just so burnt out on hustling, and partly cause I'm a dork who loves being able to hang out in the dressing room reading and doing homework between stage sets. Also, I'm actually making money! On a weeknight, there might be three or four hours of no customers, and then four or five come in and make my night. I get to read a lot, and I make money!
So far I do pretty well approaching guys on stage. Usually on my last song I'll say to the guys (individually) "After this I want to dance naked in your lap" or something like that. This almost always works for me, unless a certain other girl is working. Then they all get dances from her instead of me. My income is cut in half when she works, and she works all the time lately. Mostly I think it's just that she has this incredible stage presence.
I'm travelling for the month and when I come back I want to be more competitive, but how?
