    Default Not what I expected

I went to amatuer night last night and really thought I was going to do well. I even thought I was doing well when I was up there. It didn't go as well as I planned. Granted I made 30 dollars in 2 1/2 minutes because of dollars but I didn't win any prizes. The other girls seemed not to be much of amatuers. They had done the contest before and things. I really enjoyed myself up until the contest everyone was so nice. I mean I got some screams but I just thought it would be different. Not sure how to feel; I want to go back to dance but what if that goes as bad as the amatuer night.

I doubt it would go bad as Am night. I think Am nights are rigged anyways. Sometimes not the girl who was likely to win actually wins..its what the manager wants or wtvr. Dont worry...in the mean time maybe you can try another club that doesnt have an Am night?

It's not that bad girly....our amateur night brings in amateurs from an agency!!! I didn't know that at all! So regular girls are at a bit of a disadvantage. But really, if you did that well in like 3 mins, you'll do just fine!! :-)

A lot of amateur nights are rigged. Many times they are dancers from other clubs, or even from that club itself. A lot of times they are friends of the other dancers and it's already decided who is taking what place before it starts.

They offered you to come back and dance there? They wouldn't do that if they didn't think you would do well in their club.

If you did that well in tips.... YOU WILL DO FINE! Go for it!

Amateur nights are not what their title claims, like the other ladies have said. For the true amateur, that's a good time to decide if you can truly get up there and do what dancing requires. Better to do an amateur night than go in, get hired and be there all night wishing you could leave.

I've always said that they should change the name of the contests to be "Non-Employee Contest".

My first amateur contest was the same..."amateurs" were doing pole tricks and really dancing like they knew what they were doing. I didn't win the first time...but the next two times I got second and first places consecutively.

Just have fun...enjoy yourself...play with the crowd...and you'll be fine.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry. A contest puts you up against other girls right there in front of everyone. If you did that well in tips, you will definitely do well dancing. I was nervous being new and going up on stage my first night dancing, but the DJ announced me as new and guess what, the money came flying! People will help you feel comfortable and as long as you look pretty and look like you're enjoying yourself, the rest will just fall into place! I still feel like I have a lot to learn, but I only compare myself to myself, and each day I get better.

98% of AM nights are rigged.More offten than not the so called amateurs are girls that work at the club anyway or were hired in from other clubs or agencies. The ones where I work are. That way they don't have to acctually give away prizes.
