Default Male with some questions *pics added*

Hey everyone. My name is Ryan and, after hanging out with two female friends who dance, I'm somewhat interested in the "industry".

First off, I'm 22 years old and go to college in Indianapolis. I'm about 5'7", 145lbs, and in good physical condition ("hot, petite, and cut" is what my friends told me). Caucasian, curly blonde hair (thinking about getting dreadlocks...nice dreadlocks, that is), and blue/green eyes. Oh yeah, and I'm straight.

So, I just found out that two friends who moved to Colorado are dancing to make extra money. We were discussing it during a car ride and then they came out with the "Oh, you really should strip, Ryan! You'll have fun and make good money!" line. Well, after talking to them about it, I'm somewhat interested.

Now I have some questions. Is my height/size a very big factor concerning the job in question or is the only requirement for a male dancer to have a penis and be willing to shake your sh*t? I'm in good shape, but I AM thin. Would it matter if I have dreadlocks? They wouldn't be big stinky hippie dreads. Once I get on stage, what the f*ck do I do? lol How good is the money...really? I have an expensive hobby that you can look at in my sig. Any other suggestions for a newbie?

I can post pics, if necessary.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

You sound hot as hell to me. I would think that a short cut would be good for you, long hair is hot and while you're "shaking your sh!t", you're going to want to stay cool. Men have it much easier than women, so you'll be fine as long as you can handle the attention and lifestyle. Can we get a pic? LOL!

Thanks for the advice and comments so far. I'm still just trying to get an idea of how women would respond to me coming out on stage after some 6'2" wall of muscle. lol Here's an old pic from 3 years ago. I REALLY should try to get something more current, but this will have to do for now.

And I found this, too. This is from January '05.

This is part of a response from someone on another forum. Thoughts?

Second, your height might be a slight issue. 5'7" is relatively short for a guy. As most men prefer shorter women, most women prefer taller men. Just as in men's stripclubs, the women are there for the fantasy. However...
Third, if you're thin, you might be able to get away with a teenager look. Then your height might not be an issue. However, all the times I've seen male strippers try to do the "young thing", the female audiences quiet down. That's amazing given their normal mayhem nature, but it means very few will order lap dances from you. Female patrons want studs. A bit more muscle than gymnasts have, but rarely do they seem to like overly-built men (i.e., Arnold).

Hell, you're hot! I don't think you need to worry, I would go with the "cute, young guy next door who cuts the lawn" kind of look. I know it would go over VERY well with my friends....

Just like guys, women like the opposite sex in all shapes and sizes. Just make them feel sexy, pretty, attractive, etc. and they'll eat you up.

    Best of luck!

HELLO! Nice...you're probably going to have to wax or shave the hair off, but other than that, you're good to go. There's gonna be "Desperate Housewives" all over you!

Nice car, by the way (hobby)...

I'm not trying to be an ass, but the gay boys would LOVE you! You have that slim, young boy next door look that my friends go ga-ga over. Shake it for the girlies first, if that doesn't work you know which demographic to hit up next.

Thanks for the votes of confidence, ladies.

That's kinda funny. I'm currently working a landscaping job for the summer. lol

Mia: I was afraid someone would say that. lol Not sure how comfortable I'd be, dancing in a gay club. But, on another note, check your PM's. Two of my friends work with you at Shotgun Willie's.

What a cutie!I say go for it,you'll do fine.It seems like you have a nice built and very low body fat.I would recommend maybe getting some tan.If you don't like the sun or the salons you can use some of the bronzing gels (eg Lancome).Don't worry about your height. Most male dancers me and my friends have met have been on the shorter side, and did a great job.The important thing now for you is to come up with a good stage name.

    Hope you do it!

    Thanks, ladies! I'm flattered!

So where ya from, Danielle? lol

And as far as a stage name goes...what do they usually sound like? Dick Everhard? Harry Wang? Jeremy Surewood?

If I do this, then I plan on getting more tan and putting on some more muscle. I've been working so much over the summer that I haven't had time to workout (like in that picture).

I've been meaning to compliment you on your dreads, Aussie. They look awesome. I'm having trouble figuring out if I should leave my curls (ladies love them) or actually go with the dreads. The problem with dreads is that they'll probably not look so great when they're babies and have rubberbands holding them together. Am I worrying too much about that? lol

Thanks for all the replies, so far. More are welcome.

I'm in Pennsylvania. I was just thinking while looking at your pics...you remind me of Justin Timberlake a little. I hope that wasn't seen as a bad thing to you because alot of girls, including me, think he's hot!
    Anyway, good luck to you!!

i'd leave the curls. they definately make ya look like Justin Timberlake, so take advantage of that. and hey you might be uncomfortable at first in a gay club, but ya gotta go where the money is!

no dreads, leave the curls. I love them! I think for a stage name you look like a Kayden to me.

I'm gonna throw this in too, women are very touchy feely. I dont know what it is, soon as they see the g-string boom hands are everywhere. Not that its a bad thing but someone who is 4 times your age grabbing your package just seems wrong. I'm 22 for those of you doing math.

Gay men are awesome, I'm not gay, nor have I considered it. But they pay well, and my apartment manager is gay he keeps me well stocked up on private parties in addition to dancing at the local gay bar. Plus they keep their hands to themselves. Most are polite and just enjoy a good time. An excellent idea if you are attached to someone.

I would say the hardest part is finding something to dance to. But thats a whole other thread.

I like the "sexy cherub" compliment! Right on!

Also, I have a male friend in IN who I keep telling to try stripping....he's so huge! Yes, male strippers tend to be tall, but you are cute enough. I would recommend some costumes, like fireman, policeman, "geek/nerd" (Urkel-type getup) Hercules, biker (uh oh, getting into Village People territory....LOL) I would tip $20 for a male stripper to dance to "Mr. Roboto." Learn some routines for special requests....

Just wrap up the wedding tackle, that's all's I'm gonna say about that.
