    Default Is your Hair Real?

Im so sick of that question!! I am caucasian, pretty, have long, thick black hair. I try to keep it smoth and streight. I can almost guarantee that once a night some custy is going to ask if Im wearing a wig. It drives me insane. What am I to do? It makes me feel like they ALL think im wearing a wig..
    I can either
    1. ask them if they have a wig fetish, look cute and LAUGH
    2. Tie my hair up in a ponytail every night to proove that my hair is real.

This is about the rudest comment Ive ever heard said to me in my 3 year dancing career.

I wear glasses at times - I was asked if they were "real"

I was constantly asked if my boobs were real, which makes no difference if they are or are not. There will and never was any tittie fucking going on , so why do they care.

Lastly, I was always asked how tall I was - and then when I took my shoes off they would go. " No your not." Like , WTF, go talk to my doctor dude, he measures me. Some guys are just stupid and seriously need to go back to their mothers for some more lessons in manners.

Well it is just like really good looking natural breasts... guys in strip clubs see a lot of unnatural really good looking breasts so it makes sense they'd be sceptical about the real thing...and they are mostly too brain-dead to realize how annoying the question is when asked constantly... this is no different ... and a lot of girls really do wear wigs... I once complimented a girl on her hair only to realize later it was a wig... I felt like an idiot.

I don't think it is rude unless they mean it to be rude and I doubt they realize that the question would bother you

    I think I'M in love!

And if you have blue eyes I'm definitely in lust!

I guess I'm just clueless--I've never thought a dancers hair WASN'T real i.e. weaves, except for color--maybe they're asking that question when they asking if it's real? I know one dancer who dyed hers black to be Goth which is far better than bleaching it blonde, IMO...

Pet rock- youre in luck. My Eyes are blue. I was even asked if they werent real one time...HaHA

So, I went to a wig site on the internet.. Theres so many styles and I never realised how good a wig could look. Guess I should take it as a compliment instead. Thanks guys and gals..

Nah, most times it didnt seem like they were being "rude". They just didnt realise that is one of the things that you just dont ask a lady... Hm Seems like I will have to come up with a nice reply instead of letting it get to me.

They probably thought it looked sooo damn yummy that it was fake. LOL. When I was blonde, I had hair down to my ass and my friends grandmother of all people asked me if it was a wig. Except, I could see where mine could have looked that way.....I had horrifying bangs..*shudders*

Well, maybe you should take it as a compliment. It means that your hair is very beautiful and healthy.I get that a lot too,and about the eyes as well.I think that blue eyes reflect the black light somehow,it makes them glow.

I also have long, thick, dark hair all the way down my back. I'm on the extreme end of exotic, pretty, NOT white, and I have been asked a few times if it's real. Understandable, since I am partially black and blacks can't ever have long hair, right? Wrong. Anyone can have long hair--they just have to know how to take care of it. By the age of nine, mine was almost past my butt.

They are so used to seeing fake everything--fake nails, fake breasts, weaves, contacts--so having something nice or especially intriguing that belongs to you is a rarity. You don't have to prove anything to these people. Wear it down and flaunt it.

I get asked that a lot. I have very long, very straight, very dark hair.

But then again, I get asked if my ass is real or botoxed so.... heh!

i get the "is that really your hair" comment all of the time. it is annoying, but so many women with long hair have it because of extensions. But it is usually followed with a "wow, its beautiful," or some other compliment...

actually, I sat with a prick very briefly last night that told me "only rednecks have hair down to their ass." LOL... whatever dude.

My friggin hair is to the small of my back. I'm mixed, but my best friend is black and her hair is long too. I hate that crap. My eyes naturally change from brown to gold to amber, and I get the whole contact thing, as well. They look green in club light for some reason...I dunno. I get it about my nails, too. I have long, strong, healthy nails that look fake. I dont' mind the questions, really, but at least be proper about it when asking.

I don't dance, but I get that frequently about my hair. I also get asked how long it took me to grow it. One lady annoyed the f*ck outta me by actually insisting that I cut it off & give it to her "friend" w/cancer. I told her my whole family has/had cancer (true). If ppl wanna do that fine, but I choose not to. Ladies, let's see pics of da hair, ty.

god what an ass! I remember those two guys asking me if your hair was real. The thing is, it's hard for a lot of women to grow their hair that long. I know someone who just CAN'T get her hair to grow past her shoulders and asked me how I got mine to grow. I'm like it just grows.

I've also been told my hair looked like a wig but I took it as a compliment. Maybe it was just in the way the guy said it because he was more like "Wow, you're hair is really cool looking like a wig," or something to that effect.

^^ bunny, what's even funnier, is the guy who made that comment was almost completely bald. Like clinging to the little bits of downy peach fuzz that was barely hanging onto his head still.

When he said that, I just smiled and said "don't be jealous "

Say, remember Colleen's "Why do I get all the weirdo's" thread saying she had the weirdo who licked her hair? Maybe that was his way of trying to see if it was real without asking any questions!

How do you take care of your hair so it gets very long and doesn't look ratty? I have known a LOT of girls, especially blondes that look, well, gross with long hair, because it wasnt taken care of.

    What do you do?

Yeah, I've seen GROSS hair that the owner wants to hang onto just because it's long. Short, healthy hair is so much prettier than long, nasty hair.

If you are blonde, I am assuming that your hair is fine in texture. Ask Pamela! She has gorgeous, healthy blonde hair--I think she uses olive oil. I use it too, and it works great. Keep the ends trimmed! I think hair gets the ratty look when the ends are frazzled, frayed, and split. If your hair is straight, try a blunt cut with no layers. Biotin pills help strenghten your hair. Thermal-protection products are a must if you heat-style. To detangle and brush your hair, use wooden combs and 100% boar bristle brushes. They are the most gentle on your hair. Start at the ends of your hair and work your comb upwards--this keeps you from tearing through the tangles, which of course can cause breakage.

my hair is very fine and silky light blonde - but also healthy. Make sure you get trims every six weeks to get rid of splits and keep the bottom straight and even looking. Also, invest in quality shampoo/conditioner, and switch it up ever two to three months. ALWAYS brush your hair from the bottom up and NEVER rip at it in an attempt to quickly get out knots. Also, avoid heat styling - never blow dry. I'll run the flat iron over a couple of sections, but use a product made to protect your hair from the damage prior to styling. I'll also use a deep conditioner daily - let it set for about three minutes while i shave in the shower, and then comb my hair (from the bottom up, working in sections) before I rinse it out.

My regimen - its gotten my hair past my ass, and still is healthy.

Heh, I get asked the same thing no shit - about every two steps I take. Generally people don't mean it to be rude they're just curious- god knows why, it's only hair!!! I've found the quickest easiest way to answer is "No"! If ever I do have all natural hair again I shall still answer no!

you need to realise that if a customer asks you that it might be a way of trying to start a conversation with you i know i ask weird questions especially obvious ones when i talk to people because i'm shy and or don't know how to approach them properly....take it for advantage -

LoL... my situation is totally reversed. I have a kick ass weave and custys touch it and run their hands through it all the time and go "wow, that's your real hair, huh? it's soooooooo beautiful"... fake stuff looks really good sometimes, so don't be upset when they say something real looks fake... it's usually a compliment

I posted a pic of the back of my head in the pictures section "Pictures of You!!!" I love to wear it in retro styles, even though a lot of people don't like that style.
