Angry 1st Bad night at work

I worked another sunday and it was so dead we had to stop dancing for awhile. I did get to learn some pole tricks though, but the part that made it really crapy was the atdude of the other girls. it brought me so down. it made me feel sleazy. some where talking about how sick of stripping they were, and how they even were sick of dancers. it felt alone and just trashy. plus the club we full of creepy guys the whole night. lickers biters, I spent most of the night trying to just keep my self safe because the bartenders and bouncers were falling asleep. how do you deal with a night like this? I made okay money, was still one of the top girls. (out of 4) and not as sore as my first night, but had to sleep in my car on the way home because I was so drained. I work again on sat, and am really nervous about it being a total crash and burn again. help please.

It happens to everyone. Bring a book or something to knit (not joking). Stay away from the other girls. There was one night back East where the weather was so bad (snow) that barely anyone came to work. This scummy looking guy came in and no one but me and my friend went up to him. DANG. He spent like $1000 on us. If I had listened to the other girls, I would have gone home with nothing but pay, like they did.

Some ladies really can't deal with what we do. So in order to make themselves feel better, they try to make everyone else feel worse. I repeat, stay away from them. A lot of dancers that are the best in their club stay to themselves and keep their eyes on the prize.

They may be there longer but their bad attitudes permiate (sp?) onto others. You dont want to catch bad attidude fever it willy only suck you in too.

At some clubs Sundays arent the good days there. Stick around and try out a few other shifts to see where you fit best. You might like it busy or you might like it slow.

On slow bad nights I call a friend, do homework, read a magazine etc. Just to take my mind off of the brewing negativity. I bet your next few nights wont be this bad. Just dont get wrapped up in everyone elses negativity.

    It is in Minnesota.

On not getting negative I bring my iPod with me to work and if I need a pick me up I listen to some music that I like. I also have motivavtional stuff on my iPod that I like to listen to on the way to work. If you must be in the dresing room with the negative dancers just pop on your headphones and tune them out-Literally. It will protect your state of mind as well as keeping a positive attitude. If they think you are being snobby, too bad for them to not realize that you are just protecting yourself from their toxic negativity.

I survived in a club for nearly a year by doing stuff just like this. And this club was horrible!! The girls were more then just being negative they were looking to be mean to anyone and everyone. The house dancers in this club drove quite a few good dancers out of the business. But I kept my head down and I didn't let them polute my brain with their toxic talk and actions byt totally tuning them out. I'm still dancing and they are all gone now for one reason or another, mostly due to being fired of arrested.
