I'd like to clearly define what it is that I am selling. It's good to know from a sales training standpoint. My product seems to be more than private dances. It includes my personality and such. So what is it?

Our company... Sexual energy. Smile, conversation... Making someone feel good about themselves.
I guess that is what we sell.

You're selling a fantasy. Under that premise, things like lap-dances, VIP room trips etc. are the vehicle for getting to that destination, so focus on the destination when selling this product.

We have to combine what each individual customer is looking for into one package. Some customers want a pretty face, some look for a great ass, for some it's the tits... Some guys actually look at stage performance, some want their lapdances to be amazing, and some guys just want someone to talk to. It's hard to generalize, but you need to sell it all at once. Sure, you may not have what EVERY customer wants (I personally dont have the tits, but I have the ass, stage show, personality, etc...) but it IS important to keep in mind that you need to sell several things when you are the product.

Marasmus says, "Oh no, that wasn't gas, it was merely a rectal chuckle."
Marek says, "A friend of mine got punched in the face by a dominatrix stripper about two weeks ago and I thought of you."
I've had my best experiences when the lady has made me feel good about being a man.
There you go. Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner!!! Thank you Jay, for pointing this out.
Alot of girls that I work with don't seem to get how I dance with many different men. All do is treat each man like a...man. Men are all different. None of them are the same, so I dont' treat you all the same.
If you want to go the "product" way about it, look at it this way: you're a car salesman and at your dealership you sell many different cars. There's the SUV, the caravan, the sport car, the 4 door sedan and the 2 door coupe. You are not going to sell the SUV the same way you will the sport car. Even the 4 door sedan and the 2 door coupe need different selling techniques. When people walk into a car dealership, they are looking to buy a car. Some are ready to buy that day, some are comparison shopping and others are impulse buyers. As a car salesman, it is up to you to close the deal. Doping that requires you to listen to your customer so you can fulfill their needs. A successful deal is when they drive off in that car happy. When they are ready to buy a car again, they will come to you. Or they will send their friends to you as well.

"Miss ChiChi, if you was my girl you would never cry from anything...except maybe happiness."
We sell sanctuary and salvation. LOL.

You're selling on two levels.
At the first and most obvious level, you're selling the chance to see you naked.
At the second level you're selling the illusion that for a few minutes you find your customer attractive, desirable and you might, just might meet him OTC.
You're also selling the illusion that your "work persona" is how you would behave OTC - that you get a degree of personal satisfaction and sexual fulfilment out of what you do.
To this end, I've always thought a dancer's personality and body language are more important than her figure and looks. No matter how pretty, (or beautiful), she might be, no dancer is going to make really good money unless she can inspire flights of fancy in the male imagination.
Phil.
I've spent the most money on a dancer when she was able to make me forget where I was.
I have always heard and acted accordingly that the main purpose of a strip club was to make its patrons forget about the outside world, the cares, responsibilities, and worries for at least a few hours.
The patrons come in here looking for escape and I sell it to them. I listen and I cater to them within reasonable limitations.
It appears that the patrons are looking for an something extraordinary, something outside their normal daily routine of experience.
Oh, yeah, they can have it. As long as they are willing to pay for it.
The product is escape and forgetfullness, sort of like the lotus that the the lotus eaters in Homers Iliad and the Odyssey ate.
You mean I can't get a break OTC, TFD? I am crushed, just crushed. We are giving men a chance in the club that we wouldnt give outside the club....

Contrary to popular notions, happiness can be bought, and I can sell it to you, for a few hours at least any way.
That's what my job at the club is, to entertain you, make you laugh, get your blood flowing again! Make you happy.
Just don't forget to pay me.

Paige got it right, not every customer is looking for the same thing. One of the secrets to success is figuring out what each customer wants and treating him accordingly. For example, a lot of us older guys are just lonely and looking for some friendly and intimate companionship. That's often very different from what some of the younger guys may be looking for.

Any of the older guys want conversation wereas the younger guy will want a second of conversation then get a dance. However, the older guys will get more dances from ou if they are comfortable with you.

as my club managers say "we're not selling sex, we're selling sensuality."
Damn right! I took up fully half of the wide shot at the bar! Right? Right?LMAO.. you mean your not? I saw your pics at SF1

Answer: Whatever is asked for.
Except, in my latest encounter with a dancer, I wasn't able to ask.
A dancer sat down next to me and we started to chat. I was going to pay her for her time (chatting) with me, but she turned it into a table dance.
I held a $20 in front of her and asked for a $10 back. She asked, "Oh, did you want a table dance?" I misreplied (so it became my fault) saying, "Is that how much a table dance costs?" She said, "It's actually $15, but I'll do it for $10." What the hell, I went along with it.
I didn't know table dances could get negotiated down (except I didn't negotiate anything, she did it.)
I guess that chat will have to come later.![]()

Neve, I actually think that "intimacy" is a better word for it. Forget the sex and the dancing, a lot of us older guys are just happy to talk intimately and to cuddle a little with a scantily-clad girl who is being nice to us.
