    Default Excercises & Flexibility

I was wondering what you ladies do to become more flexible and what kind of excercises you do.

I used to do weights with my husband but don't join him at the gym anymore for various reasons-- i don't have a cardio machine, but i re-started doing Tae Bo....i was wondering what Pilates consists of, i've heard alot of females talk about this and was wondering what your opinions are on it.

Tae Bo hurts, i find myself half way through and be cussing the guy on the video as he stares at me with encouragement haha but i feel great after i do it, i also dance around in an erotic manner as practice while i sometimes clean.

Being a former ballet/jazz type dancer, the way I got flexible was by stretching all the time. I'd stretch while watching tv and when I was just sitting around- usually 30 minutes or more. That's the only way I was ever able to nail my high kicks and splits. Others might have more specfic stuff for THIS type of dance, but a bunch of stretching will never hurt! Good luck!

yoga increases flexibility and strength withou making you want to yell obscenities. Plus you can probably get an instructional book or video at your library or local blockbuster type store.

    Hey girl,
I'm not surprised to hear you say that Tae Bo hurts. Tae Bo encorporates real moves from Tae kwon do and boxing, the only problem is you are learning the majority of those skills off of the tape. It shouldn't hurt, but it does because you may not always be using proper form and technique. If you really enjoy the workout, I suggest doing some drop in kickboxing, or another form of martial art where an instructor is present just to get a basic feel for proper form and technique with your kicks and punches. I used to do Tae Bo before I started doing tae kwon do and felt the same way as you, now when I do it, it's a breeze. PM me if you have anymore questions

Pilates is great. It's similar to Yoga...which is also great.

Go to your local library and hit the video section. I can almost guarantee that they have some kind of Pilates video tape there.

Thank you VERY MUCH i appreciate all your input -- it helps me out, i just told my husband that i love all the little tips on here...even if i wasn't wanting to be a stripper i'd still join this site for the responses.
I think i'm going to borrow some video's from the local video store on pilates and yoga -- i want to learn different techniques as much as i can.

ReleaseTheBats -- haha <3 thank you, i grew them myself -- i thank grandma for the genetics.

Tiff_7_17-- about Martial Arts :/ i'm just reallllly impatient and stubborn when it comes to martial arts -- the thing is my husband has been teaching Wing Chung Kungfu for the past 13yrs.....i tried but failed.
It's excellent technique, i recommend it to anyone.

    Thanks again guys.
