Default Do you feel censored by your agent on Stripperweb?

    Hi Ladies,

Just wondering if anybody else had this problem...

Have you ever wanted to share bad experiences about a booking or agent, but were scared to write about it on stripper web?

A while ago I had a really bad experience with an agent. I went to the other side of the world, the sc ended up being a total brothel, but when I tried to leave they refunded my ticket and I got stranded.

I don't share the specific details but I'm still weary because we all know the agents are lurking here, and they have our pictures and name and phone numbers (tho often ironically we don't have their same info, exp last names)... things that could be released online and cause all kinds of problems.

Without going into details, do you feel like you can be open about your experiences with agencies?

Or, have you held back on giving a realistic review for a club or booking because you met nice girls there and don't want to badmouth their place of employment?

    Thank ya

I'm sure there is a way on the club review section to do it... just sign in as a guest if your worried about them knowing you.

In retrospect, I am so bitter about my some of my experiences that some agents should be grateful I have not slandered them.
I do not wish to be involved in that game as I know how shady and demented some are. You can never win, the table tips in their favor.
I will say, never trust anyone.

This is a very free forum of idea exchange. On overseas strip jobs, the forum is consistent
in warning dancers not to give up their passports ever, and beware of circumstances that lock you in to dancing for a period of time with no air fare or way back unless you fill out the time on the contract. That type of employment used to be called indentured servitude
and americans don't react well to such deals.

This forum has been consistent in warning dancers that in most local areas agents are un
necessary unless you are a "traveling" dancer or "feature dancer."

You need to file some sort of police report. If it happened to you, it will happen to someone else.

You also need to start naming names. If not, someone else is going to get hurt. A while ago, I got screwed making an adult film for a company. I knew that they had all my information on file, but I made the decision that warning others was more important.

I never recommend using an agent that wants to send you to some far flung place that it would be difficult to get home from (Guam in particular). If you must use the agent to get the schedule, fine, but arrange for your own transportation and housing while working in that location. The club may still compensate you for your transportation and housing costs at the completion of your contracted time, but if things turn sour, you can easily get back home and get back to work where you are comfortable.

Always keep in mind: "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is"

I should add that I do use agents occasionally, but I always provide my own transportation and housing. The agency that I have used most frequently has treated me very well, and I have no complaints.

I wish you were able to warn others without consequence. Because the work is international, to which government agency could you report this? Pretty much none.

Club Chat has so many inquiries about Guam. I want to shake the women and tell them not to go. Even if we pretend that the SCs aren't brothels, there is no money, the island is boring, and you have to work 6 days/week.

The general drift of the true work conditions in some of these places is accurately stated
on this SW board. Dancers that don't bother to read (the extensive) past threads generate little sympathy from me. SW does tell the truth. If dancers don't bother to
read it or look it up that is their problem.

You’re right. This is not the ladies only response forum. Your question seems to imply a self censorship by dancers because agents read the board. Most of the long term members of this board, (including myself) answer questions honestly and in a factual manner. On working conditions in various other countries, the SW board gets so many inquiries and responses, that the answers on Guam and Japan are almost the same and are repeated over and over and over. To a large extent SW goes to great effort so that no individual or named business is libeled, as the board in a sense acts like a special industry newspaper and could get sued as the circulation keeps going up. The board, in commenting on business conditions and the SC industry in other countries is also polite and careful on its statements. I don’t view this as censorship, but rather as good legal and business judgment on behalf of the moderators, who in this sense are acting as news editors.

However, the working conditions and risks of various other clubs in other countries are in the past threads if an individual will go back and read all of them.

There. Now you’ve forced me to use Word and spell check.

I've never used an agent but, knowing myself, I'd never be able to keep my mouth shut if I had a bad experience. I'd want to warn others as well as VENT. My dancing isn't a secret and in my own situation, there's not much I could imagine an agent doing in retaliation that would harm me.

That being said, I can totally see why some girls might be uncomfortable telling the tale of a bad contract/agent experience.

I definitely agree with Paris - if it sounds too good to be true, it most likely is. And definitely make sure you can provide your own transportation and housing when engaging in travel/work contracts. Definitely not a good idea to get into a situation where you're stuck in a bad work environment.

I also agree with NiceGuy that those arrangements where you have to complete a lengthy contract in exchange for airfare/housing seems more like indentured servitude than anything else and I want NO part of that! As strippers we can pay for our own trips and housing - we don't need some agent or club giving us "deals" for that!

But to get back on topic - can't we post anonymous reviews in the club review section? That would certainly be helpful in getting the warnings out about certain clubs/agents without drawing negative attention to yourself. Just general info/warnings would be most helpful and don't have to include any specifics that would indicate your identity.

Thank you 242 for posting your experience. Your posting didn't make as much of an impression to me as the agents response. I take most girls reviews of experiences with a grain of salt, until the agent comes online posting real names and making threats. It shows you how they really treat their dancers

^ You should really post a copy of this comment in the other thread.

As for the anonymity Bridgette is asking about...I know that it was brought up before by other dancers who want to review a club...but don't want anyone to know their reviews. I know that it's something to do with specialized coding that Pryce needs to do...and it's on his list of things to do...but it's not at the top. So, eventually, you will be able to log a review without having anyone know who wrote the review (well, the site Admin would know, but no one else would).

I think this stuff should be brought out in the open. What are they gonna do, put a hit on you? Ha... Anyways after thouroughly researching "agents" I've decided that they are a joke and should go fuck themselves. If you want a job done right, do it yourself! Research, research, research people. Don't depend on others to do it for you.

Hmmmm. That could lure the poster into a false sense of security. If the site Admin knows, the account information can be subpoenaed. I'd still want to keep in mind that I'd need to supply evidence that my statements are true in the event that someone sued for libel.

Here's another issue. Would this new anonymity bring about a situation in which Pryce is constantly being threatened with legal action by the "injured" party if he doesn't delete the negative comment? I'm not trying to kill the idea, just bringing up nuances to consider.
