    Default Club gone Bad.

I work in a club that used to be nice. A few years ago when they opened, the club showed promise; they really fixed it up and it looks good inside and out.

Its sad- to see a new dancer who is bright and cheery and then over the course of a week thier whole attitude has changed Must be the money.

Why dont I work somewhere else?? Because was the last choice for me and its looking bleak.

It's hard to work a "club gone bad" no matter what the cause. Personally, here in LA, things are bad simply because there just isn't the money that used to be here and there are twice as many clubs. I was reading my diaries from 2001-2203 and just working 3 days a week we used to make insane amounts of money ~ just working 3 days a week. But it isn't like that anymore and I really miss those days. It was so much easier then.

You know, it's funny. When I first began dancing there were dancers who would talk of the "good days" of when *they* first started dancing and all the dough they would make and I didn't understand. I thought that the money we were making when I first started dancing was consistant throug- ought the years, but 3 years later, I know better. The money has really gone down since then. I wish it were different, that I could say that once upon a time the money sucked but that now it was 180 degrees from that, but unfortunately, I cant. Here in LA, money has gone down, down, down, and I'm just waiting for the time when it all turns around and I can tell a different story. I hope it is soon, as I'm sure all my dancer friends do too, because $250 a night, no matter what night, just isn't cutting it.

    :-)

I agree Piper, it isn't as good as it used to be. But indefense of $250 a night, that's not too bad around here.

But to make that a little more realistic to you, my morgage on my house is less per month than that. And if you work 5 nights a week, that's $1,250 a week.

If you make $20.00 an hour working say construction; and you have to pay roughly 33% out of your check weekly to various things such as SSI, IRS, state tax, school tax, county tax, etc, then you only get about $536 weekly. I know that's kinda on the high side for taxes but.

For the same amount of taxes you would have to be making around $40.00 and hour to come closer to $250 a night. And even then you would make $1,072 a week.

For me making $250 a night is saying I made $50.00 an hour before taxes. And no where I know of is $50 an hour is a bad thing.

But you are right, it is getting steadily worse. girls you really need to take Mel's advice and SAVE, SAVE, SAVE!!!!!

The problem is not that it's minorities and blue collar men. White and white collar men buy sex as often, if not more. The problem is that you've stayed in the club knowing that this is what goes on there. You need to find a new club. Staying there is the same as condoning the behavior. It also seems (even it is not the case) as if you are a willing participant, if you work at a place where sex for sale is the standard.

If I were in a town where extras were the norm in all the clubs, I'd be packing up and moving along to a town with a better market for strippers

I'd think twice about this. There is a very real risk that if LE attention is drawn to a particular club that ALL dancers are at risk of being charged with something, even if some are not actually blatantly breaking the law. Under a strict interpretation of Florida prostitution law, grinding lap dances are arguably illegal too. Thus girls 'just' doing contact lap dances potentially face exactly the same charges and fines as girls giving HJ's !

My home club went into the pooper too...sad too since they could do so much better if the owner cared to try.......but no.....ironic how management rides the dancers, BUT when they have to give up bad habits, they won't until things are so bad no one will buy them out....aaaaaugh stupid people.

Melonie's point is another good reason besides the dwindling money that you need to get outta there, Sinn.

Hmmm good point. My other recomendation is buy an 8 ball of coke throw it in the managers car when he is at home. I'm sure you know what else to do. And hit up the doorman too.

And just exactly how does getting your manager busted for drugs change the situation at your club with respect to the girls selling extras???

I agree, calling the anonymous tip line is not the best solution. Some cities/states have very strict laws and they can bust girls for the slightest thing, even if it's not actually sex. For instance, if they wanted to, they can arrest a dancer for prostitution when she takes a tip from the hand of a customer. You don't want to bring that down on yourself, it sounds bad enough as it is.

If you can not leave the club now, then you should brush up on your hustle skills until you can.

$30-80 a shift?? Hell, go get a job as a bartender, cocktail waitress, or even at Denny's on breakfast shift, you will make the same in tips AND you will get a paycheck!

You could still work a couple nights a week dancing if you felt like it. If this was the reality I was looking at I would be trying to get a job selling cars. An okay salesman makes $4000.00 a month, and good one makes double that!

Promote yourself and earn more money! This is a business that is owned by strippers for strippers. Let's make that money!
