Hey all...anyone here ever have Botox? Were you happy with the results?
Just something I have been considering for the future ...
Thanks so much for any input.
Yes, I have had it for my frown line. I am happy with the result, but I have found that it takes me only 2-3 months before I need a new treatment. It's supposed to be about 6 months in between sessions.
It really doesn't hurt that bad, but there is a numbing cream you can order and put on about one hour prior to injection. You won't feel much with the numbing cream.
yes, i have had it done. i really liked it....i had them put it on my two lines between my eyebrows. i thought is made a huge difference...and the only thing bad with it is that i had a huge headache the rest of the day.
mine only lasted a few months as well...not the 6 months i was told.
Yes I have had botox at least 4 times. I had it between my eyes and also on the side for crows feet. It lasted about 3 months. It does HURT, but for beauty's sake I don't care. IThe numbing creme is extra and you need a few hours before it takes effect. I would NOT recommend it.
I have never gotten headaches. I would get more but it is expensive, but worth every cent.

Yes,just got it done the first time a month ago.It hurt like hell to put it in ( I got it done in all 3 areas, around the eyes, forehead and between the eye brows). It takes about a week to see results, and looks great.I hate needles though, and it took 10 minutes of poking it in my face to get it done.I had big green bumps on my forehead for 3 days, but I can tell you it was worth it.My girlfriend just had it done last week, also looks great and she was worried about the painful injections, but her doc somehow did it without much pain,so I'm going to him next time.
Did you get all those areas done at once? Are you still able to make expressions?
Luckily I don't have crow's feet, but there are lines between my brows that are starting to appear and I want to do something about it before it gets worse.
Does your face look younger or more flawless?
I'm not trying to look any younger (as I already have the baby face thing going on) but a more flawless look is what I am going for.
How soon can you dance again after getting it done?

I have been on the fence about getting it done for my frown line. I worry a lot in my sleep and i'll wake up with deep lines across my forhead. Most of the time its gone by the time I wash my face and moisturize. But on stressful days it just seems to get worse.Originally Posted by smartcookie

What type of numbing creme do you use ? I got some from the dr. who did my photofacial and I still felt the procdure.![]()

i want botox so bad.....but it costs $550 just for the forehead...what did you guys pay for that area?

I saw this thing on MTV where this girl had botox to the forehead. Her head looked a little lumpy after and the next day. When you get it done on the forehead does it look lumpy for that long?

I've had it done a few times. For me it lasts 3-4 months. Cost is $250 for 25 units for frown lines between brows. One time I had lumps afterwards and the doctor gave me a cold compress ice pack. Bumps went away within the hour. Works great and helps me look more polished. Without it I get lines between my brows if I go in the sun. I can still make a little expression.
It's best to get it from a Dermatologist, not a plastic surgeon. That will lower the cost right off the bat. $550 seems really high, even for my area (LA), so maybe look around a bit. SO MANY people are offering it now that you can get a much better deal than that.Originally Posted by nikkisixsixsix
Make sure they administer the botox to the guidelines directed by the manufacterer too. Some unscrupulous places dilute it with saline too much and then you won't get the optimum results, but you'll know those types of people when their prices seem too good to be true, much lower than the competition or local "going" price range.
Anyway, shop around a bit and you can get it for much less than $550, especially if you only want one area done, ie: the crease in the middle of your forehead when you frown as opposed to your whole forhead and lines by your eyes (which you may or may not have anyway). That way too you can try it out and see if you like it. Good luck!

Heck, you can find docs in every specialty who do Botox as well. Even up in your neck of the woods, I know of non-dermatologists and non-plastic surgeons from Huntington Memorial who offer Botox service. It's a pretty easy procedure that just about any reasonably qualified physician can do. A physician friend of mine asked me last year if I wanted to do a little Botox and Restylane on the side... why I declined at that time, I'll never know. Too bad I moved away from Pasadena.Originally Posted by piper_monroe
