Ya, I wasn't too taken with them though. I didn't really hallucinate and a lot of my insecurities came out... I guess that's why it's important when you pick who you do them with? I haven't had any desire to do any sense then, though.
... But you didn't finish the story!

The effects can be felt even years later.

i've tried them twice...both times i only took enough to get a good body buzz, no hallucinations...gotta say though, never wanted to have sex more![]()

ok well I felt absolutly nothing when I took them....or so I thought..........everyone else was tripping and nothing was happening to me......then later that night (keep in mind I was depressed and semi suicidal at the time)....I had this crazy urge telling me if I don't start working out again and get my liffe together I was going nowhere.....and the next day my life changed drastically..........then I had a mental breakdown a couple months later and was diagnoised bi-polar but let me tell you I had a strange summer and I was hallucinating seeing the "devil" and demons and crazy shit ......funny you say that minahsky because my sister though my scitzo/bi polar/manic episode was a delayed reaction to the shrooms and I didn't think that was possible......anyways yikes are u sure that people can feel the effects years after they take em and why?? I wonder if alll the shit that happened to me last summer had anything to do with the shrooms I took in April............

I was so drunk when I tried them and they made me barf. Note to self: no more shrooms and no eating them with cheetos while wasted. I dont care what people do as long as it doesnt effect me and that they dont die.

Yes.
About 500 times. Love shrooms. Probably won't ever do them again, though, since i'm kinda done trippin for good (Done with acid for sure, since it kinda dawned on me that i was trusting my sanity to some unknown backyard chemist of questionable skill). Though i suppose if i found some good peyote, i might consider it.
As far as hallucinating goes, i've tripped pretty hard, and in some unintentionally bizarre circumstances (I once wandered into a midget convention while on a couple of hits of blotter acid, which was traumatizing to say the least) and the most i've seen was a parakeet out of the corner of my eye.
I ate a large wad of "green" and went crazy for 3 days. I told God if he let me go back to normal I would never do that again. I am anti-narcotics but never had anything against green.
I could feel a gradual expanding of my mind for months afterward (much like a Rottweiler owned by Deadheads that ate a bag of green- "He was never the same again" said the owner.) But I like the angry, paranoid me. I did not wish to become enlightened. F*ck that!
In honesty, the past year of real life has shown me that existence itself can make you feel like you're stuck in a bad trip.

I'm pretty straight-laced today, but in my early 20s, I did shrooms a LOT. They were far and away my drug of choice.I was never enticed by heroine or cocaine so I never did them and I hate the smell of pot so much that I could barely be in the same room with that burning but Shrooms were awesome. I eventually grew out of them, but I certainly progressed into other hallucinogens. LSD I wasn't too crazy about...kind of too sharp of peaks for me. I did do DMT and Iawaska a few times though...that stuff makes LSD feel like candy. Talk about hallucinations...howly cow...stuff that's virtually impossible to describe.

I've never done any drugs. Never had any desire to. My friend did them and he said he saw the walls caving in :/
^That's good ksalerio. I wish I had never bothered. I wasted my time.

you name it, I've probably done it... I've had both good and bad experiences... much like my time in the military, it helped form who I am, but I neither encourage nor discourage others from making those choices.

I love shrooms, but they kick my brain into overdrive sometimes, and I cant stop the long, random thought strands I get. Ugh.

Marasmus says, "Oh no, that wasn't gas, it was merely a rectal chuckle."
Marek says, "A friend of mine got punched in the face by a dominatrix stripper about two weeks ago and I thought of you."
I did in college once and I swear all they did was make me a little paranoid (which could have been a placebo) and I ate a lot of them. Maybe they were weak shrooms but I hardly got any effect.

Shrooms come in many different varieties and strengths too. Sometimes they cause different mental reactions as well. For example, Golden Teacher is pretty mellow but causes a lot of intellectual stimulation. When on them, you are more prone to want to talk philosophy, read or write etc. On the oposite end though, you have varieties such as Mazatapec and Amazonian which are quite strong and have a more hallucinogenic/LSD type reaction. This, of course all depends on your body size and the amount you take just like alcohol.
The most I've ever taken of any variety was about 6 grams, which is quite a bit. On that, I was having out-of-body experiences, seeing shadows of ghosts, visual and auditory hallucinations, and massive states of altered reality on a major level. Generally speaking, the amount (in grams) that you take of dried shrooms will give you a reaction of equivalent tripping on a 1-5 scale:
Level 1
This level produces a mild "stoning" effect, with some visual enhancement (i.e. brighter colours, etcetera). Some short term memory anomalies. Left/right brain communication changes causing music to sound "wider".
Level 2
Bright colors, and visuals (i.e. things start to move and breathe), some 2 dimensional patterns become apparent upon shutting eyes. Confused or reminiscent thoughts. Change of short term memory leads to continual distractive thought patterns. Vast increase in creativity becomes apparent as the natural brain filter is bypassed.
Level 3
Very obvious visuals, everything looking curved and/or warped patterns and kaleidoscopes seen on walls, faces etc. Some mild hallucinations such as rivers flowing in wood grained or "mother of pearl" surfaces. Closed eye hallucinations become 3 dimensional. There is some confusion of the senses (i.e. seeing sounds as colors, etcetera). Time distortions and "moments of eternity".
Level 4
Strong hallucinations, i.e. objects morphing into other objects. Destruction or multiple splitting of the ego. (Things start talking to you, or you find that you are feeling contradictory things simultaneously). Some loss of reality. Time becomes meaningless. Out of body experiences and e.s.p. type phenomena. Blending of the senses.
Level 5
Total loss of visual connection with reality. The senses cease to function in the normal way. Total loss of ego. Merging with space, other objects, or the universe. The loss of reality becomes so severe that it defies explanation. The earlier levels are relatively easy to explain in terms of measureable changes in perception and thought patterns. This level is different in that the actual universe within which things are normally perceived, ceases to exist! Satori enlightenment (and other such labels).
On this scale, I would say I hit levels 3-4 more often than any other, and about 2 or 3 times I hit level 5. In spite of the fact that just about everyone I knew had a bad "trip" at least once, I can honestly say I never did once, which is probably why I liked doing them so much years ago. There was a point though that I wanted to experiment with a bit more exotic stuff and tried DMT once and Iawaska once...Now that was some crazy stuff. I did Iawaska down in Mexico ten years ago with some friends who grew up near a sort of aboriginal tribe near Puerto Vallarta and he and I did Iawaska with them. It's so difficult to explain how that stuff reacts to you. On the scale of 1-5 above, Iawaska is probably in the 7 or 8 range and it hits you virtually instantly. Unlike shrooms where you can be tripping for around 6 hours or so, Iawaska only causes tripping for about 30 minutes, but those 30 minutes are beyond explanation. It's sort of like if you could imagine blinking your eyes and when you open them, every bit of existence as you know the universe is turned upside down. Everything about the earth, your body, your mind, your ego, ceases to exist. It's pretty crazy stuff.

Sold!

never done shrooms but i have done x. that's enough for me. I don't like weed or coke. and the thought of seeing walls breathe doesn't appeal to me @ all. i'd rather just feel really REALLY good.
but i've had to learn the meaning of self-control, since i have a high tolerance for it. I once did an obscene amount of pills and wasn't right for days afterwards.

In spite of the fact that I did experiment with numerous exotic drugs, I don't suggest it for anyone. There are just too many adverse effects that anyone can have from them and although I was dumb in my youth, I am lucky that I had no major harm from them. I think the craziest "not right afterwards" story that happened to a friend of mine. He bought a sheet of LSD (about 10 hits) and was driving home with it on the front seet of his car. Normally, nobody would ever suspect anything because it's just a sheet of paper. Anyway, a cop pulls him over because his license plate on the back lost a screw and was dangling off the back. My friend paniced though and swallowed the entire sheet of paper before the cop walked up to the car. All he remembers is waking up in the police station a week later. They told him he was eventually let go by that cop but was picked up later running around in the streets naked after trying to hold up a convenience store with a flap from a cardboard box. He remembers nothing of it, and to this day is still wired a bit odd after that experience. Crazy crazy crazy.

LOL i'm sorry i know it's a sad story b/c he's all messed up after that. but that is pretty funny. Trying to hold up a store with a flap from a box...that's great. but you have a point, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. i don't think it was worth it in the long run.

Yea. I havent tripped since 1994.. but.. uh.. trippin was the best! Honestly I liked Mescalin the best. lol.. (i can not believe I talking about this now.. its been so long!) But.. yea.. besides sex, I would have to say.. trippin was is the best high ever. . uhhhh I am getting my rave flashbacks.... yum
I was reading an autopsy book and I saw a picture of a 14 year old boy who accidentally killed himself by practicing a judo chokehold on himself. Some people choke eachother out to get high....acid or shrooms are a far safer escape than choking or huffing spray paint....
Kurt Vonnegut pointed out in "Breakfast of Champions" that drugs are a fast and easy way to experience mental illness- some people's brain's are high all the time because they're insane. LOL
